If by seeing, you mean perceive fuzzy objects surrounding me, then yes, I can see, lol.

Actually, it's not as bad as I make it sound. Certain things like staring at a computer screen or typing (I'm relying heavily right now on my memory of where the keys on my computer are, as they tend to blur together when I look at them) are quite awkward though.

Cross your fingers that I can get a new pair within the next week...the optometrists don't like it when I visit them more than once every two years, and my two years isn't up until early June.

Well, in the meantime...you could always sport the "nerd" look...

You mean, tape my glasses together? Lol, my frame fractured on the side rather than in the middle...Maybe I'll go find some tape and sport the nerd look indoors so I can actually do things on the computer without straining my eyes.

Go to foureyes, or some other place that sells glasses 2/$69. I have 4 pairs or regular glasses, and one pair that has tinted add-ons.

Man...this is one bad tape job...

Problem is, I have a very specific prescription. I have lazy eye...each of my lens is a different strength, so regular glasses won't do.

I guess my crude tape job will suffice until I can find suitable replacements...the scary thing is, taping them would not have occurred to me had Phuque not suggested it.

I've been SO lucky with mine. I got my first pair in 2005 and still have the same ones. I've lost them once or twice but they really weren't lost, just set down where I could not see em.

I bought the rather expensive ones with the unbreakable Nitinol frames and transitions lenses so I probably have just been extra careful with them. Too cheap to go that route again and will probably go with the big black military style after these finally dont work or get lost/broken.

When my brother and I were young, we fought a lot. Once when I was about 15 my bro and I were into it...fist city. My dad gets between us and I stop. But my brother jumped around him and I took a swing. He ducked and I hit my poor ole dad right between the eyes and broke his glasses right on the nose-piece.

I always guessed he did it just to punish us with embarrassment, but he took some snotty looking yellow-green epoxy and glued them with a gob of it right in the middle. Wore em for a LONG time after that. Thats the last time I ever didnt stop when he said stop.

I know how you feel. I just went and picked up two pairs of glasses. First new ones in 5 years. Boy is it ever nice to see without looking at chips. These cost less than what I paid for one pair 5 years ago, so I think I did well.

Ex wife was a Dispensing Optician, always got great glasses for free or half price.

But not anymore, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and pay for them.
