I used to bring home buckets full of these golden shells from the beach...

Don't know why, they just sat there in the bucket in the garage, until of course my mom threw them out. I never noticed my bucket was always empty the next time we went to the beach!

I hid a tank of crawdaddies (crayfish to you non-Southerners) in my headboard once, & fed them scraps from dinner...till Mom found them...!

Speaking of shells, I picked up a few on a beach in TX. I carried them back to my motel room and put them on my nightstand. Oh so happy to have these treasures to carry home with me.

Sometime in the middle of the night, I was awaken by a thud against my bed. I sprang out of bed and raced for the light switch, certain someone had gotten into my room. I searched the room and the bathroom. No one there. When I started to look under the bed, with my heart in my throat, there I saw one of my shells moving! I glanced on the nightstand and one of the other shells was also moving! I had picked up hermit crabs in the shell! With some relief, I put them in the bathtub until morning, when I carried them back to the beach.

I brought home a little female black lab pup. The reason why it was strange was I had found some older boys trying to bury her alive in a pit! I started screaming and crying until the boys relented (to shut me up) and let me take the pup. My mom let me keep her based on the circumstances.

I brought home a baby great horned owl

we kept it in the garage until it was old enough to fly away on its own. dang thing was as big as I was

Thats cool! Did it become tame or remained wild?

Weirdest things...hmm.

Spiders, I brought spiders back in buckets so my dad would kill them.

Probably my pet frogs I found in the ditch or my pet snails.
