I've never heard of the "older boxers training the younger ones" thing. Even if that WERE true, I could only imagine trouble, knowing how Splash acts. laugh

any PET BECOMES "PART OF THE FAMILY", thats for sure!!! And yes, older boxers tend to be "mothery" with young puppys!!!! its actually cute to watch it!!!laugh

and adding another puppy to the family, may even settle down the other!!! They will DEFINITELY become best-buds!!!!!!!

Yeah. If nothing else, you might want to think about getting a lower-energy dog to counteract the high-energy one that is your boxer. As that dog whisperer dude said, "you have to introduce calm energy to the pack", which isn't necessarily gonna happen with two dogs on crack. laugh

good points...

Well, my sons girlfriend had a Yorkie and she just kicked Splashes butt.. Of course he let her but it was hella funny to watch.. I had a big house and backyard and these two got nuts... Moof I'm thinking low energy would be a dead dog... laugh laugh

True. You don't want a Basset Hound or anything close to that.

If you were wanting something TOTALLY high-energy, you could go and get a Jack Russell Terrier- not only are they REALLY smart, but they're also uncontrollably hyper. A Russell would probably tucker your dog out cuz they're so outta control. laugh

I always thought my kids would turn 19 or 20 and get their own places like I did and I'd help them out when things were tough or just b/c I wanted to... heh who knew I'd be taking care of them well into their 20's laugh

There'd be no guarantee of that, though. You DID watch "Failure to Launch" with Matthew McConaughey, right? laugh
