Internet marketing in a nutshell:

Find a product, build a website, get a mailing list, drive traffic to your website.

The secret? Lots of hard work.

Be real about it.

Internet marketing is tough... you'll need a lot of traffic driven to your site and the niche has to be something people will really buy whether products or electronic stuff like ebooks and what not. Then you need to generate traffic by advertising... Google adwords and facebook and other sources. This is where investment comes in. The more money you pay per click to higher up the google searches your ad goes. Some ads are even paying google as much as 100 or dollars per click. Keywords are another very important role.

Good luck!

Any Internet marketer knows the difference between spam and mailing lists.

A mailing list is one that people have opted in to receive. Or emails from some place that you bought a product from. It is sometimes called "a news letter" or "ezine" that you agreed to receive via email. At the bottom of these emails are opt-out links where you can go to remove yourself from the list.

If you are getting emails from a yahoo group you have to go to that group on yahoo and opt out from getting the posts in your email.

Spam is junk email that you did not ask for from spammers who got your email address without you having given it to them.

Because I live in a "remote" area, I shop on line a lot. I also have several websites and promote some affiliate products. I am learning about Internet business so I will know how to sell my tarot deck when it gets published this year.

So yes, I sell stuff on line.

I have a product and a website but I don't know what to do now. Apparently I have no customer for my product or I am just marketing it all wrong. I would put in the hard work if I knew what to do. Soooo frustrating!

What is your product?

The next step is getting Internet Traffic. I have an ebook called "Traffic Manifesto" which had many different ways to drive traffic to your website. Here are some examples:

Search engines (get listed.. optimize your website)
Pay per click advertising (costs money)
Article Marketing (takes time writing)
link from emails (signature on all your emails)
List building (build a list for a news letter)
social networks (There are a lot of them)

You have a pay pal account for accepting payments?
