Topic: A Day in the Life of Joe Republican

Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because a liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of coffee, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because a liberal fought to insure their safety and that they work as advertised.

All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer’s medical plan because liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance - now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because a liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because a liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because a liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because a liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn’t want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because a liberal didn’t think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune. Its noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because a liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because a liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime. Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because a liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers’ Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. The house didn’t have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification.

He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because a liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to. Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn’t mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day. Joe agrees: “We don’t need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I’m a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have.

There is nothing wrong with being a liberal or conservative within limits. The problem is that too many liberals are getting WAY too socialist. Many liberal policies have infringed on my rights and ability to find meaningful employment (affirmative action, cough cough, Amnesty for illegal immigrants, etc.). Liberals also want exceptions made for the laws and standards because they do not fit with their "modern" or "progressive" thinking.

The good done by Liberal thinking in the past does not condone, lend credence to, or justify the bad they are doing now.

Why don't some of you liberals out there send me some money so I can feed myself after being wallet raped by my bills. I am getting tired of eating Ramen and cheap hotdogs all the time because I cannot afford real food lately! I work my ass off for what little I have and the worst insult is that Liberals act like I have money to give away.

Where is the fairness to me who IS a born and raised American?

Oh, I forgot, I am white!

Sorry I seem to be so conservative but I have to live in this nightmare from a very uninsulated position. Nobody seems to think about the greater need other than to chase every minority cause and worst yet is the racial overtones of Obama's administration.

I don't get health care, I don't get food stamps, I don't get anything form anybody unless I work for it and then there are a hundred people all holding out their hands wanting the money I made. Where is my right to prosperity? Oh, I am actually asking you?

So what happy little answer can you offer me to make me feel better about the stupidity going on around me? Take economics in college and I don't mean the happy "how to write a check" or how to go Shopping economics class.

I got a college education. I put myself through. It was tough. And with the job market the way it is these days I am saddled doing work I wanted to get away from and the worst insult is what have I got to show for all my efforts? I sure don't have any security and any money in the bank. I would not have the hostility if I was a drug addict because I would know where all my money was going.

I am done with all of this Liberal and "help the poor minority" thinking. We need to save America from being buried under so much debt we become utterly insolvent. There is no such thing as a level play field. Reveling in the past does not deal with the present. There are a hoard of factors why Social (In)Security has failed. Some of them have do do with Baby Booms and population demographics as well as other factors like Congress's inability to not keep reapportioning finances to suit themselves.

So I am such a bad man because I keep saying I am white and that is why I am not receiving any help? That is just what you want to think evidently. Are there so many trees you can't see the forest?

You get plenty of help cause you live in America, and you should be grateful that you had the oppurtunities you had here. I feel your pain, but I'm 26, and I'm totally on my own, I work for a newspaper, and I get no fs, no medicaid, and cash that I don't work for. But I'm not complaining, I have a place, a car, a job (4 now), and I know things could be alot worse. America's a spoiled country and we really don't know what poverty is here or I guess it's just a relative thing. Now the octomom, that's a different stry.

Joe this and Joe that. Who the hell is Joe?

We the American public are at stake here. We all have problems. We are in this together. Color isn't the issue. Every color is hurting.
Isn't it ironic that white people are now whining about the same things people of color have been saying for decades? Why is it that white people feel so worthy? So enherently above everyone else? Why is skin color becoming an issue again? This boat is for everyone, isn't it? This America is a melting pot of masses. We are a team. We need to act like one.

So, madisonman, if a guy is self-sufficient, not an idiot, not a bum, saves his own money, and doesn't have a relative living on welfare or social security, there is no need for Liberals!

Like I always said, only bad people need liberals!

So older people that do not work and get their SS that they paid into all their lives makes them idiots?

Is there a pill for what ails you?

Consequently, you would not need a social security.

Now, if an older person draws SS, that could be only for one of two reasons:

1) Could do well on his own, without liberal government, but been forced to pay into it, so may just as well draw it. In this case, there is no need for a Liberal, just like I said above.

2) Need it. Could not save without being forced to put some money away. Now counts on it. In this case, a person clearly is an idiot. Again, like I stated above, he needs a Liberal government to arrange his life for him (not a life, really, just sucking on air).

Quite the contray SIR!! Your name calling of people who have worked their entire lives for what they could have? You seem to not understand or KNOW about the plight of some people just to survive. There are women that were divorced before it was popular. Had no means to work. Had no cars. The man took it all back then. Women were forced to do any little job just to feed the kids. Women were looked down upon for being divorced and without a man to do their bidding for them.

My mom was one of those women. She tried very hard to make a living for us kids. She did anything that came her way. She couldn't get her child support most times. She had no training. She wasn't rich. She isn't stupid! She isn't lazy. She is 74 years old. She works full time...know it all.
She had to wait tables for the likes of you who have no compassion for those less fortunate. If you tip it is most likely because you want to show off...not because you appreciate the hard work that is provided for you. She had to work at Dairy Queen. She woked. She has woked forever. She couldn't invest. She had no spare money. She had no credit because not that long ago women couldn't get it without a man. There was no 401k. There was no profit sharing.

Without her SS, she would be in trouble. After she is forced to quit work she will depend soley on her SS.

I for one have been widowed twice. Try paying for two funerals and the bills behind that. Try doing that on meager wages.
I have no formal traing in better jobs. I have tried and did have my own small business for about ten years. It was hard to just make a paycheck for myself, after paying my help. The taxes kicked my ass. Let alone the supplies, the insurance, the legal crap. Do you give credit where it should be? If people try and are still left like much of the world?

If you are so well off...then why aren't you out there on some other site where rich people gather to talk down the rest of the populace? One would think if you are so well off and smarter than the average bear that you would have just a tiny bit of compassion.

Kat

Oh...excuse me. I forgot something. She also worked at a grocery store for 17 years. Later in the years they went to 401k. She invested in it. She was doing quite well for a time. Then she got fired. It was her age and we won that in employment court. They tried to take away her benefits. Anyway...after she was fired and losing her 401k in the stock market that they invest for you, she got 9,000 dollars, this included her profit sharing! After 17 years. Of which they took almost a third in taxes. 17 years a little over 4,000 dollars and lost her insurance, her profit sharing...her life for the most part.

What a fantastically written piece!!!

You can thank Reagan for de-regulation, and the termination of contractual value. Effectively allowing one to invest their entire life savings into a 'safe' place for retirement, only to have it all voided - legally - by the laws implemented by those with, for those with.

Padding the pockets of those who already had, while removing the money and the pockets from the pants of those who did not... right before they retire... or now... even after!!!

Paid holidays...
Minimum wage...
40 hr work weeks...
Medical benefits...
Environmental safety...
Time and a half overtime...
Vacation time...
Retirement benefits...
Profit sharing...
Worker safety concerns...
The list goes on and on...

You can thank your liberals... laugh

The non-existence of these things and so many more were the reasons for the workers to come together and form unions. Worker abuse and neglect by the owners caused the need, and it will be the same again very soon...

The success of a country is not measured by the peaks in a graph...

It is ultimately measured by the average success of the average citizen...

How much money is too much for one to have?

Nifty thing, now the workers unions and liberals seem to be going overboard and causing more harm than good.

Here's the thing. True liberals don't mean to do harm. But the "road to hell was paved withgood intentions". Some of the worst disasters, and largest crimes were committed under the guise of good intentions.

We all have our part. The conservatives and the liberals.

I think now we have to ask ourselves, "do we want freedom, or do we want equality". Both seem pretty important. Both have good intentions. The conservatives seem to push for freedom, and the liberals seem to push for equality.

As long as money exists, or even nature (to some extent), an equal society cannot, and will not prosper because it defies the laws of nature. But, if you got rid of money, and bartering, than maybe you could make it become stable. Just don't expect many advancements.

Freedom and lasting equality cannot survive together. Think about it. Nature is kind and cruel. When forcing equality you limit the power of people to prosper.

Unions are one of the reasons for outsourcing.
Why pay some monkey to sit ad look at a screen, $40.00 an hour when, in another country, you can get a monkey to sit there for $5.00 a day.
The Union worker is pricing themselves out of jobs and sending jobs overseas and to Mexico.
