I saw it a few days ago and really don't see what all the fuss was about. It was alright, but nothing Oscar worthy.

twilight, even though the books are solid, might possibly be one of the worst films ever made. worse than waterworld. worse than eragon..got that movie was trash.

i think that women like the silent, mysterious, dangerous, main character. even if he is pigmentally challenged.

i personally thought it was disappointing as far as vampire movies go.

I thought te movie was very nicely done. Can;t wait for New Moon to come out, my roomates just bought the last book which is Breaking Dawn. She is currently on book 3 which is Eclipse. Also she is soooooooooo obsessed with Edward, 3 posters of him are hanging up in the apartment.

Do not have your hopes up too much about the first movie.. the books are -imo- 200% better and more entertaining.. those who have not read the series though do enjoy the movie a lot though.. a lot of those who did read books felt the movie was terribly made and such..

Friend of mine had a copy of the movie, I tried to watch but fell asleep about twenty minutes in.
The female lead was well acted but all the other characters felt forced and 'plastic' to me. The male lead was trying so hard to be "James Dean" that he over did it.

My opinions anyway... I might try to watch it again in a few weeks and view it with a fresh perspective.

Ha ha. I know what you mean... He did seem to try a little hard.. personally that could have so found a better leading male.. "Bella" wasn't bad she is a cutie and exaclty what is described in the book but not "Edward" ha ha..

Try again in deed if you wish.. let me know how that works for you! Ha ha

The Twilight Saga, thus far at least, is infinitly better as a read. There was so much put into the movie that, had you not first read the book, you would not have understood its meaning. Catherine Hardwick did a good job of getting the essential 'core' elements of the plotline worked into the movie. However, the book had to be shortened so much to fit into movie form, that a lot of the humorous elements were gone from Stephenie Meyer's original version. There were some parts that were unintentionally funny in the movie, as some of the least experienced actor/actresses did give a rather plastic performance-imo-. Twilight was filmed on an insanely low budget making the first movie a bit of a flop(as some fans would agree.) However, because of the vastly wide ranging fans of the book, the movie was the most viewed of the year and grossed over $380 million.

Because of the fan devotion and excellent turnout of profits from the first film, Summit Entertainment has allowed for a much higher budget for New Moon. New Moon's NEW director, Chris Weitz, hopes to stay as close to the book as possible, as well as make up for parts of the story that may have gone untold in the first movie. The fans have been promised that New Moon will not disappoint in the re-telling of the original story as well as the special effects, action sequences, dramatic elements, and all other areas of the first film that were 'lacking something.'
I'd still reccomend to anyone who has not read the books to read them before the movies come out, because they always change some things in any film that goes from book to screen. As far as the improvements of New Moon, I guess we'll all just have to wait and see! I personally can't wait to be at the premiere!

'In Theatre' Release Dates:
New Moon: November 20, 2009
Eclipse: June 30, 2010
Breaking Dawn: *currently confidential/unreleased*
