There is a significant difference between having errors and oversights in your taxes and not paying them at all.

Boy...might be fun to subject your returns to the scrutiny of the IRS and the Obama vetting team.

But...back to the man Palin thinks would be a swell AG.

You know...the guy who said marital rape is okay?

Bet if you are a woman in Alaska now who is the victim or domestic abuse or rape you would feel secure in knowing the states highest law enforcement official thinks what was done to you is within a mans rights?

Lest you think this guy just thinks that marital rape is okay here is more. In 1993 Ross used words like "immoral," "degenerates," and "perversion" in a letter to the state bar association during a fight over gay rights.

Sick minds?

Joking about rape...well that's an insight...

By the way I would be remiss in not mentioning that men are raped too. It is every bit as offensive as the rape of women or children although I find the crime of raping a child even more awful.

The job of an AG is to be the chief law enforcement power in the state and they have broad discretion in setting enforcement priorities. If I were a woman in Alaska I would really wonder what his policies and priorities were in regards to my safety and rights.

most have a hard time understanding this too...but women can rape men as well. i don't see how people can knowing hurt others that way and violate them.

Absolutely I can't even begin to imagine the pain a raped man must go through. With the ridicule our society puts on these people it's gotta be, by percentage, one of the most under reported sex crime there is.

I do not support any man that supports raping anyone, married or not.

as far as my taxes..I think that is the other thread...but I spend alot of money each year making sure that my taxes are done correctly. I have my personal tax attorney, my families tax attorney and my families corperate tax attorney go over my taxes each year...I am sure that it is possible to have something come up, but I would think that when you are paying for the the attorney's that Obama and other politicians are paying for, that you wouldn't have these problems...at least you would think.

Seems Palin supports and endorses a man who jokes about marital rape and who is clearly bigoted.

This guy is her pick??

Thank God McCain was defeated...can you imagine, had she been involved in the process of selecting a potential SCOTUS justice??

I take issue with anyone joking about a subject like that...why not joke about child molestation too? some jokes just aren't funny to me....and i love a good joke and to joke around

I guess we could alway go back to the days of Clinton and "not judge a person by his personal behavior, but by how well he does his job" kinda days huh??

I would not support him, and I guess as far as Palin goes...I'm sure that every decision you have made in your life was the right one huh??

Tjis nomination is not something that was done in haste. At least I hope it wasn't but...

Have I always made the right decisions?

Nope

Sarah has an obligation to competently represent the people of Alaska. All the people...not just the neocons. the AG has the same responsibility and obligations.

One would reasonably expect that when making a decision like this she used due diligence and made a studied inquiry into all aspects of this candidates policies and positions.

These sorts of selections are not mistakes.

Mistakes are fleeting bad judgments.

Oh and if you would like to relate this to the tax issue it is important to acknowledge that the tax issues were discovered and publicly disclosed during the vetting process.

This may have been discovered by the vetting process, but were not publicly acknowledged until after the nominations and payments were made...unless you have a source to show that it was publicly announced prior?

His statements and affiliations are public record.

So, either Palin endorses those positions via her nomination of him as AG or she failed to exercise due diligence.

Not knowing the private details of another persons tax obligations and not discovering the public record are very different things.

So...at best let's say she likes some of his positions and not others but in forwarding this nomination she apparently failed to discover disturbing public statements made by him.

I really would expect that a governor who we were told was qualified to step into the presidency by the republican party would at the very least understand that she has a responsibility to the people of the state of Alaska to act with due diligence. Especially when selecting the states lead law enforcement official.

So by those standards, all public officals better read or have someone read every news paper magazine and any other articles..including papers written in college and before...before they offer them up for a position??? That is an impossible standard to reach I am afraid...and can you tell me what offical in any office has ever done that??

Either she failed or her vetting committee failed or she endorses his positions or if not endorses finds those publicly stated positions compatible with hers because she nominated him.

Right?

I mean...gosh...if she were a democrat who nominated an AG who said publicly on multiple occasions that Christians were deviants and acting unnaturally and that he felt it was okay for women to beat their husbands or children despite there being laws against it you would be going nuts I bet.

Your double standards are showing...but I expect no less from those that pick and choose...even in regards to the so called word of God.

I have said that she should not support him if this is his belief, I thought all who read my statements could understand that..what I am talking about is holding one up for scrutiny and at the same time not looking onto or acknowledging others that do the same thing.. Talk about picking and choosing??? I think you need to look into the mirror about that...
