I Stand Before You
I stand before you dressed in nothing but myself. Would you like for me to wear shadows of doubt and our strings of unseen guilt about the neck. I stand before you dressed in nothing but myself. Would you like for me to see through glass eyes and see your rainbow with all the shades of grey. I stand before you dressed in nothing but myself. Would you like for me to speak with a fork tongue and listen to you with cotton wool in both the ears. I stand before you dressed in nothing but myself. Would you like for me to keep a close distance and touch each other like if we had wooden limbs. I stand before you dressed in nothing but myself. Would you like for me to think with an empty mind and love you with a heart made of sand and mortar I stand before you dressed in nothing but myself. Accept me for who I am, if not, then you must go and leave me just the same, as I am. |
