I rarely do it anymore. If's very disconcerting to put a huge effort in to an email, being witty and interesting, only to get no response at all. I'd say about 10% on completely cold emails.

I probably have about a 80-90% success rate, but as TxGal said, that is only an initial reply with a few follow-ups.

The percentage is quite low in terms of longevity. I am partially to blame though. If their emails are thoughtless or full of small talk, I am no longer interested in communicating.

The majority of my emails are from people that don't post in the forums...

I have made some great friends that way...

I have't emailed anyone except those who emailed me first...

Ditto, one must be able to keep my attention or the e-mails get smaller and smaller lol

I exclude them because i dont have the time or the desire to form any kind of relationship with someone outside of the threads.

Good lord, are you here to meet people or be some kind of "I'm too good to talk to you" type. Anybody can email, IM me, or whatever. If you're not my type, it'll be a short but polite conversation.

What i find funny is on so many other dating sites that's all there is to go off of is the profiles but then you need to 'pay' to have be able to email them and I hear people complain well they look cool but don't want to spend the money to contact them so they don't. But here where email is free and you can contact anyone you want off a simple profile people aren't intrested? hmmmmm makes me wonder if this is actually a dating sight or not it seems to be more of a community type website than a dating site..........well that is what people are choosing to make it anyway.

Honestly I will always respond to anyone that writes me regardless who they are. I just love to talk to people in general.

Unless they quit writing me I will keep on responding ask those that do write me lmao I always have something to say.

If I come across a profile that interests me, I'll email them. I also reply to almost everyone who emails me, even if just to say "thank you" because it takes courage to email a complete stranger. The only ones I don't reply to are the "ur hot, hit me up" garbage.

About an 80% response rate. Have to admit I haven't done much blind e-mailing lately. I met some terrific people who e-mailed me, and am glad I responded. Still have a crush on one of 'em, but...
