i embrace my arseness as you put it but thats on;y because i believe in giving to people straight and at times it hurts feelings and i look like an arse. I don't think i should apologize for it but it hurts me to hurt other peoples feelings. the only recourse left would be to lie and i won't do that.

There ARE ways to tell the truth using tact and diplomacy. One doesn't have to be an asshole to get their point across.

i agree but i feel sometimes that tact and diplomacy are misread and the message is lost or misunderstood. Maybe i've just had too much bad luck in that area.

Being truthful is great. However, if honesty is not used with tactfulness, it causes others to suffer needlessly and does more destruction than good.

I liked your profile. I don't see anything in it that would lead me to believe you are an "arse." However, I am old enough to know that all humans have the potential..lol.

Perhaps you could try asking yourself, "Am I choosing my words with unconditional love? Or, am I choosing words that will purposely hurt another to make me feel better?" If the answer to the first question is, 'Yes', you shouldn't have any feelings of guilt. If the answer to the first question is, 'No', you still have work to do...lol.

No matter what you do in life, you will cross paths with people who are not as mature as you. So, no matter what you do/say, they will become offended. You are not responsible for anothers happiness. If a situation makes you feel like an arse, those are your feelings. Find out why you feel that way, and figure out a game plan to change your behavior for the next time it happens.

Good luck!
