Ok, I was awakened about 20 minutes by neighbor's clutch (it grinds real bad, wore slam out)......I go outside to smoke a cigarette and I notice he's parked down the road, but he's hiding behind a tree in his front yard. As soon as he sees his puppy creep out of her "dogloo", he started to move to her. She saw him and hauled butt back into her dogloo, but he dragged her out by her choke collar and starts beating her with an old shoe. I haven't EVER seen him do that to her....I should know because I'm over there a lot to sit with his son while he's gone or just to shoot the breeze.......The sad thing is, she's a pit bull puppy (so beautfil) who's got the sweetest personality. She's eager to please and will lick you to death before she even thinks about biting you.
Sorry y'all, I just have to get it out of my system...... |

Call the Humane Society. And think, if he's doing that to his dog, what's he doing to his kid?
|
|
|
|
turn him in to the police and human society for animal abuse... and yea he would get arrested for it

Call the Humane Society. And think, if he's doing that to his dog, what's he doing to his kid? you have a valid point, but thankfully the boy steers clear of him by staying in his room, but if he tells me different, I'll call child protective services in a heartbeat.....his son is developmentally handicapped due to three surgeries he had from ages 2-5 to have a brain tumor removed. |

Ok, if the boy is steering clear of his own father, there's a reason. While I understand you may not be comfortable stepping in, it's hard, but if you don't, who will? There may be no reason for concern, but that should be up to the police and social services to determine. The real question is, can you live with yourself if something does happen to that child? If your conscience will be clear, let it go. There are certain people in this world who need protection, children, animals even some adults, and it's up to those who are stronger to do the protecting when necessary.

any dog can turn. its how you raise them. Pitbulls are not inherantly bad dogs. if you get one of a good blood line that does not have alot of inbreeding they can be the sweetest dogs you ever met.

Humane society and Children's Services need called.
You vented to us for a reason. If you even SUSPECT abuse, doesn't that child have a right to be deemed safe in his home? This isn't the 1950's. Children's Services actually came about due to animal abuse, people actually created laws about abusing animals before they did laws regarding children. "If you help a child today, you write the history of tomorrow". |

That is so true...although they do have the genetic propensity to be viscious if over-bred or abused... I've been in the dog biz for many years & have seen it happen time & time again. Some even give them gun powder in their food to make them mean! But as much as I am concerned about the dog...I am even moreso about the child. Do you have a vid cam? Get some evidence on tape if you can... I don't like sticking my nose in other people's business, but when it concerns the helpless elderly, a child, or an animal...SOMEONE has to step up to the plate. |

Why don't you call the SPCA or something...

Children's Services actually came about due to animal abuse, people actually created laws about abusing animals before they did laws regarding children. "If you help a child today, you write the history of tomorrow". Do you realize that anytime a child abuses and animal or other children it is normally due to they are being abused themselves. Therefore when that child grows up if in fact they had never received any help this abuse pattern will continue but instead of other kids it reflects to there spouse or their children and still their animals as well. My advise is make those calls or be part of the problem. For if someone expects something is not right and does not make a move does that not in fact make them and accessory to the crime. Call SPCA and let them look into the dog matter then take a closer look at the child as well. The dad seems to have some angue issues and almost bet it does not stop with the dog. |

Ok, if the boy is steering clear of his own father, there's a reason. That, to me, is a big red flag and something needs to be done! |

Even if you don't want to get involved, TELL A MANDATED REPORTER!!!!

Havin worked for CPS, I know for a fact that every state has a 1-800 number u can call anonymously an report any suspected abuse. U know a cop in ur town? Can u trust em? Call someone. If he's beatin the dog than I can purty much guarantee that's his abusin his child in some way. They go hand in hand.
