I think my roommate is hitting my cat. I saw him hit him once when I first got the cat. I told him not to hit him as he was a shelter cat. So I bought a spray bottle.
The past three days, when my cat sees him he runs for the hills, so something has been going on. This cat was always out and about and happy before. Not sure if my roommate has been going crazy with the spray bottle or doing more.
He is a good roommate otherwise...pays bills on time, quiet, etc.

 I wouldn't kick him out, but I would perhaps mention it to him why the cat is running away from him:smile:

I think he doesn't have any kind of outlet for his anger.

Smack him around the next time he hits your cat.

See how he likes it.

I caught a (former) friend of mine doing this with my now-deceased) cat some years ago. It pissed me off SO much that I socked him in the face, dragged him out to my back yard, and proceeded to pound him into hamburger.

I also told him that he would be best served by running the other way if he saw me again, as I would give the person something to REALLY worry about the next time.

People who abuse animals are sub-human and should be treated as such. mad
