I'm not new at this on-line dating thing, so here is the translation of the aformentioned terms:

easygoing -

I take it easy. In all aspects of my life. As a matter of fact, I take it so easy, I don't even have a job right now. I also take it easy when it comes to relationships. I'm in no hurry to talk about feelings and all that other girlie-man crap.

laid back -

Yes, I'm planning on making you the one who's laying on her back.

down to earth -

I'm jiggy with it. I keep it real. Don't expect me to put you on a pedestal, grow wings and flutter around you all the time. If God wanted me to fly, he'd have made me a bird...or whatever.

open minded -

I like a certain type of woman, but I'm not afraid to think outside the bun. If I'm desperate enough. Or if a woman comes along that's desperate enough. Whichever occurs first. I'm also open to "alternative activities" such as cyber sex and threesomes. I have an open mind when it comes to that kind of stuff, otherwise I would be narrow minded.

wow i'm glad my profile doesnt use any of those terms but then again my profile sucks..lol..but if i had used any of those terms your generalization would have definitely missed its mark..i am the exception ..but while you're at it how about some translations of female terms ..and you cant be biased ...im figuring it might be just as amusing ...

The bane of my existence -- "laid back and easy-going" (HR1437 requires that they be used in that order) is one of the "Ultimate Cliches" on dating site profiles, and anyone who uses that should be immediately ostracized (i.e., turned into an ostrich, because an ostrich could probably write a better profile).

And it seems that 92.8% of the entire world now sees the glass as half full. This usage was already trite and hackneyed when Millard Fillmore was a baby.

I'm also completely fed up with "I like to go out or stay in" (what are your other options?), "I love my family and friends" (how very different!), "No game players" (as if this request is somehow going to prevent them from noticing that you've just admitted a vulnerability), "Anything you want to know, you'll have to ask" (I'm not genetically predisposed towards dragging information out of boring people), and "I don't know what to write here" (then why bother? THAT certainly wasn't worth reading).

Yeah, go check out "One Glorious Profile" for some prime examples of what's really out there. It ain't pretty.
