Of COURSE, a person's child should always come first. If they didn't, something's wrong. By the same token, when said child(ren) are "their life, their world," etc., then you have to wonder why someone is even entertaining the notion of finding a partner in the first place. Better off to put the idea aside for the next 18 years until the kids are grown and gone, because it pretty much equates to the same thing anyway. Humm that is basically what I did do for the one guy I did date for many years was told right off the bat the way I felt. No one lived with me the whole time I was raising my kids. I felt like my time should be invested within them not another person. But now they are grown and I feel if the right person does come along that now I could actually give my attention to that person and a relationship instead. That is if they come along.....
