Vista has become a major pain in my derriere! After purchasing my new super duper all singing, all dancing Toshiba laptop ( with Vista installed OS) I am finding it increasingly difficult getting my money's worth of usage! None of my filters ( for Paint Shop Pro ) work anymore, now even Paint Shop Pro doesn't work either.
Does this mean I have to stop using all of my graphics programmes after spending a king's ransom acquiring the newest versions of Paint Shop pro,Photoimpact, Filter Forge, Vizros, etc, etc?

I get some real sickeningly annoying messages whenever I try to use PSP, now to add insult to injury my internet connection tells me I have "limited or no connectivity" after a thorough search on the internet, I read with great interest that some drivers for some modems are not compatible with Vista, and most graphic programmes would not work with Vista either................ What is the point of " developing" and marketing a defunct product such as Vista?

I know some people have had no problems with Vista, but that does not make it a good product. Even more disturbing,Microsoft will charge you a fee for reverting to XP ( for those of us who have the basic Vista) So, for my sanity's sake, I am hopping over to PC World today and reverting to XP!

My friend has Vista and she is having the exact same problems.... limited or no network connectivity, does not play well with other programs, and a whole lotta attitude... Simply put, Vista sucks!

Vista is nothing more than garbage, by daughter and neighbor both have vista and they had had nothing but trouble with it since they got it. I'll stick with windows xp. It works.

Well saying vista sucks, is a little bit unfair to say. The os is doing what it was meant to do, be super duper anal on keeping your information safe. It however needs tweeked to allow you to say if a program is a trusted one or not. (I personally made sure I was downgraded to xp for the reason I knew this would be the case).

I see vista more for the people who don't know how to monitor and protect themselves. I use programs such as winpatrol, spybot search and destroy, a completely free avg virus protector and lockpad (for encrypting .txt files with a password). I am smart on what I download, because downloads are like hookers, if it looks to good to be true, its probably got a problem.

What Vista is doing is adding layers of security that would not be needed if the underlying issues in coding were to be resolved. Read Code Complete, supposedly required reading for all Microsoft staff, which is ironic as most of the patches i see being released are related to issues addressed in this book.

The computer and software industry is the only industry where we the public that buys their product we allow them to give us unfinished products full of bugs, in any other industry this would not be admissible and would be taking to court right away. But for some reason we let them tells us that it is acceptable that way it is not their fault to many probabilities.

Like my internet provider it is always telling me that if my internet is not working go to this site for trouble shooting. Hey dumbass if my internet is not working how the hell am I suppose to go to the internet site, at least they give me a phone number in case of emergency but even when you call them they always ask you if I tried the site first.

Please world give me people with a brain.

You've hit the nail on the head. The whole purpose of the development of Vista and Windows 7 is and was to make unearned money now on something that will end up a future unearned money maker.

Why are you going back to PC World? To buy an XP license? Didn't you ever had one?
