Hey wadda you all think of the Green movement that is popping up all
over?

I have been an advocate of the green lifestyle for a long time and try
to do my part all the time by recycling and all... I really think that
it is good that Arnold Shwarts-however it's spelled, the Governor of
California, has gotten in on the movement.

It is slowly taking off. There are some that are doing much and some
that are doing what they can for now. Then there are those that scoff at
the thought.

I drive my car as less as possible. I don't cook out as much as I used
to. I mow early or very late. I never fill my car up in the heat of the
day. I take short showers. I only run the dishwasher when it is totally
full. I try and use very little paper towels and go to grocery stores
that use paper rather than plastic. There are a few things that make a
difference. Those are my few for now. There may be some I have
forgotten. I am now trying to break myself from the individual plastic
bottles of water. It takes 5 times as much water to make one of those
than there actually is in it. Besides which, it is not biodegradable for
about 1000 years.

Reeducating people takes time & effort. Think the price of gas has
helped wake people up to thinking different. Not a total green person,
but started learning & making changes 20 yrs ago.
Had frst truck repair shop in the area heating totally w/used oil. Was
the warmest independant shop also.

Flourescent lights, homegrown veges, (vegetarian), pushbikes, and small
4 cyl van, re-usable green shopping bags, rainwater tanks, native
gardens, no aircon or heating,(ocean breezes and northerly aspect,
passive solar heating), as little packaging with stuff as possible, all
cardboard and food waste in the compost, books from the
library,(cheaper, and recyclable) sheesh..everything, second hand
furniture, (cause it is better quality and construction)..and so and so
