What's your brand? Do you buy by the pack or carton? How much do you pay per carton/pack? How often do you smoke?


I generally smoke Pall Mall Menthol Light 100's. I buy them by the carton. Usually around $22.00 per carton at the 7-11 down the street. That's about $2.00 a pack...and they burn really slow. Sometimes so slow that I'll only smoke half and save the other half for later.

How often depends on if I'm drinking or not. If I'm not drinking, about half a pack a day. If I AM drinking I can go through a whole pack in one night.

I normally smoke Marlboro Medium, but since our wonderful state governor saw fit to raise the taxes on them considerably (and is fixin' to again!), I've had no choice but to revert to rolling my own. I've saved a lot of money, and I've noticed I've smoked less because it takes time to roll a pack, but they taste like ass.

when i smoked i would buy camel frost (those signature blends) or marlboro mediums. i dont smoke anymore, except if im hammered. when i am hammered i always have to bum one or i break down and buy a pack.

Same here...but the tobacco I buy tastes pretty good! I average about $11.00 a carton of filtered smokes...

until april 1. i make my own filtered cigs. the tobacco i buy is now 1 lb for $10. april 1 it will go up to $25

i can make them for under $1 a pack but it will cost $3-$4 after the increase

I used to roll my own years ago. I still might have to, since they are raising the taxes here too. I have a can of Drum sitting in my freezer for reserve. Drum doesn't taste too bad and it burns a lot slower than Top, Bugler, or Kite. It may cost a little more, but I think it's worth it.

Used to smoke Gitanes (French) and Disque Blue (French) but in 1986 cold turkey and still don't smoke

I think it's bullsh!t, charging outrageous prices and taxes under the guise of paying for health care. They don't realize they're only shooting themselves in the foot, because once they accomplish their objective of getting everyone to quit smoking by charging the sh!t out of cigarettes, they revenue created by them will eventually dry up, too. Then they're gonna piss and moan that there is no money for the health care system. Well, this is what they wanted!
