...who really likes going to Family Reunions? Spring is here...& Summer soon...are these gatherings a happy occasion or a chore for you?

I avoid at all cost!

used to be a chore on my husbands side...everyone is better than the next....now they he is no longer with us I don't attend. My family is a riot however, my husband loved my family get togethers

I like family reunions.

I call them,...family rebelions. Because I dress like a clown at then is no reason to laugh at me, Jeez, do I look funny to you????

I can only handle them if I'm drinkin'.......

There are a few that are happy occassions and a few that are a real pain in the azz

I used to love them until some of the cousins started asking me why I wasn't remarried or living with anyone. When it comes to dating they made is sound like going to the store and you saying to the Butcher I will take that cut of meat please. Boy if it was that easy.

yeah a few.. if theres alcohol I can bear it. But since most of my relatives on my moms side is white trash.. I avoid.. which is easy now since im in the military... hellz yeah

Our whole fam damnly has then every two months in the cold months and every month in the warm ones. I bring the chips, and once I took a brand name bag of chips. They thought something was wrong with me.

My mom's family use to have big ones at the park and everyone came. They were great, but a couple of years ago the person who organized them passed away and nobody has taken her place.
My dad's side family reunions are pig roasts with LOTS of beer.

Seems like a lot of peeps can handle 'em if there's beer involved...

I go home to see my family every year.

As a child I went to family reunions with my father. In VIRGINIA. Property owners who sold their land or leased it for strip mining. I went to a Piggly Wiggly once, when I was ten. I also learned how to make a mint julep when I was ten.

Those crazy folk can't buy booze in the bible belt but boy did they all have a lot of it and consume a lot of it. It was kind of scary to see as a child. On the positive side I'm not all that big a drinker and I do believe my father's "whatever" attitude had a lot to do with it. After all, I did bartend some reunions as a CHILD!!!

Over the years, our rebelions were...Rockin, and the booze was flowin, but now they are real tame. Funny, we still are as loud and crazy as we were back in the day. We were just more crunchy, back then.

I just LOVE people who bring chips to a pot-luck, right?
