one of my favorite questions of all times...yet, if you do not write down your goals and look at them everyday to remind yourself to live them, they are just words....

This thread reminded me of the movie "The Bucket List"...

the opening of the movie has some incredible words in it...

"it is difficult to understand the sum of a person's life,
some people will tell you it is measured by the one's left behind,
some believe it can be measured in faith, some say by love,
other folks say...life has no meaning at all...

me...

"I believe that you measure yourself by the ones that measures
themselves by you."

I believe that Edward Cole lived more in his last days than some people manage to live in a lifetime....

I know that when he died....his eyes were closed...and his heart was open!!"

I do not think it really matters what a persons belief about the afterlife is or is not...I, personally think it matters more that people realize that today is your lifetime...live it the best you can. jump on board the ship called friendship...do random acts of kindness...be fantastic!!

to the OP: if you have not watched the movie "The Bucket List" yet...it may give you an idea or two about this "ultimate goal" you seek...another movie that may give you something to think about is "The Ultimate Gift"...

Be Fantastic!!

To own a house with a barn. Have horses and maybe a few farm animals. Grow my rose and lilac garden. Be settled into my career. Be married and have more children.

"The sum of any person is not judged by living up to others expectations of us but to our own expectations of us" By our own words and actions do we become the people we are.

My goal is to live a life that I am proud of no matter what anyone else may say or think. Take responsibility for my choices. Help where I can. And hopefully share a few laughs along the way~flowerforyou

to know without doubt that I raised two productive daughters who contribute to society in a positive manner and know that I did it to the best of my ability...

My goal is to have raised my two sons to be good men and after I am gone, I hope people will say, "he was a good, descent and God fearing man."

So, what is your ultimate goal in life or do you really have one?

Perfect - To live my life with dignity, grace and compassion. Everything else will fall into place.

Reality - To try not be an idiot, try not fall flat on my face (physically or emotionally) and attempt to not murder the mental midgets that make everyday life slightly off kilter.
