waking up to
patches of blue
peering out thru
cold leaden gray
a quick glint of
yellow offering a
tantalizing hint
of a bright
new day

my once
flourishing
fragile flowers
harshly
beaten down
by icy showers
determined to
extinguish all
signs of life
barely surviving
the harsh assault
of this unexpected
unwelcomed
winter storm…

yet life sparked
interest piqued
by the once familiar
warmth of the sun…

wounded
wary rainbow petals
slowly blossom
unfurling under
the touch of hands
carefully tending
mending the damage
done with a
gentle touch …

once hopeless eyes
are raised to blue skies
in wonderment at
a chance to thrive
in this garden …

spring is coming
a time of year
when anything and
everything
can happen
when you least …
…expect it….

stillness
a time of waiting
a time of wondering
seeds lay dormant
in the icy ground
beneath snow covered blankets
awaiting the first rays
of the summer sun

each kernel

perfection

wrapped in hope
a dream
a vision
a life
bursting
through rock
and earth
not knowing why
only reaching

reaching


for the only warmth
it knows



not concerned
if it is yellow
or purple

or if its petals
are too


fat



ah to watch the dance
life in action

we are fools
to miss such
grace
