My question is, what's more important,finding a "like" partner or finding someone that doesn't necessarily share a lot of the interests that you have, but won't tear your heart out no matter what?

I always go with the later and wind up getting my heart torn out anyway. I guess I'm just a fool and being the fool that I am, I'm here again. I must be a friggin' masochist. I don't know if I can take it again. OK, have at me!

Finding a partner is one of the hardest things to do, for some people. others are just that lucky... which is upsetting.

Basicaly, you just need to keep searching, that's what duct tape is for, to fix your heart after it's been smashed.

Ice cream works well too!

It helps if you share interests, when you don't share interests you tend to spend time alone or going unhappily along. I wish you luck !

I suppose each of us have a unique approach when it comes to on-line dating or interactions.

There are some fine posts here from folks who can advise you about the benefits and pitfalls of Mingle2 or other sites.

My advice? Relax, get to know people in the community and follow the values and standards you followed in interactions with people on-line just as you have with people off-line.

Of course there are some basic rules like never divulge personal information to strangers, never send anyone any money...in short..."trust but confirm" hehe
