What Obama has done is okay research on the most usable and effective stem cells.

Those of Aborted fetuses and unused fertilized eggs from fertility clinics.
Ones like the Octuplets mom wouldn't give up and had them all implanted instead.

No other stem cells are as adaptable to every other cell in the human body.

Bush refused to use those kinds of stem cells.

Now, this is something I agree on. As far as legalizing the research goes.

Bush....

A religious ignoramus. What else can be said about him?

Fanta,

Check this out. It's a prestigious college near my neighborhood. It teaches doctors and has many scientists.

Cool!

Just think if Bush had allowed this line of stem-cell research.
8 yrs could have shown many advances and cures. Many lives might have been saved.

Can I add murderer to what could be said about him?

Wasn't parkinsons one of the diseases that this might help? My partners dad has that. Nicest man you ever want to meet, worked hard all his life, you never found him not working on something, still does but it's getting harder by the day, it breaks my heart to see him like that. When I think of the people this could help it makes me mad as hell that anyone would block it.

The key to this type of stem cell.
When an egg is fertilized in a petri dish and begins developing it divides again and again. Cells begin to become different organs, skin, bone, etc.
If captured before they designate themselves scientist can program them using the patients DNA to become a heart, nerve, or any other cell.
These cells then develop as new cells and can reverse damaged cells in the patient.

I saw a video once of them injecting the cells through a needle into a rats damaged heart. Within hours the rejuvenation was already evident. Within days the heart was that of a new heart with no noticeable damage.

Yes, Parkinsons was a biggie for the research - Michael J. Fox. Christopher Reid and spinal cord injuries/Washington Universtiy/St. Louis. Diabetes, Cancer...the list goes on.

What's the matter kitty Cat?
You dont believe the research and medical evidence? Or,
do you just think the petri dish should go to the incendiary,
rather than help another human being?

nope. i wouldnt do that. to anyone..although ive been a hospice nurse enough tiems to know that most people arent fighting when its the end. and when your organs start failing, if you want a new one...and i happen tot ake care of you after your surgery....be glad.
i dont liek death on my shift...especially if it means i gotta pull out the ful code stuff.

seriosuly, it sucks.
but then again...if you have never held somebodys live in your hands...for 12 straight hours...
or for 12 minutes.
dont judge and dont be rude.

cuz seriosuly if you wanna be immortal...to be 80 and have the heart of a baby....i hope to god your lungs are worthwhile

Just got the impression you didn't like people much, though my remarks were more tongue in cheek really..

I have much respect for those to do hospice, I have seen it because I watched my neighbor go thruough it until the end. I don't particularly want to live to 80 unless my body cooperates, so far it's holding out fine, but with no insurance and certainly no hospitals around like yours, I won't be expecting anything in the way of decent care even if could get it....

People here dying of cancer right now are saddled with extrememly costly meds they can barely afford, putting their family at risk of financial ruin, and the doctors send them home with some pretty useless information, and they don't answer the patients questions which puts even more stress on an already hopeless situation. So not all hospitals are all that as yours might be unfortunately.

Not everyone that ends up with such horrible diseases brought it upon themselves. The two people I know right now did everything they knew to keep themselves healthy, but they got it anyway...

I have also seen how the indegent are treated in some hospitals and it isn't pretty, or all that respectful, but I guess most just figure one can't be too choosey when the care is free... From what i have seen at some hospitals, what care they got could have been otc and less expensive too.

I have had someone's life in my hands two times, and both times they didn't survive. I was not a nurse, but close enough to know what it feels like. Oh well way to tired to keep rambling... Night Cat

i have worked for a state hospital (where most everbody was indigent) and now i work for a private university hospital...

either way, i see people getting the care. although for more expensive invasive treatments..no the porr indigent people probably arent considered for such treatments...they are treted for whatever emergent condition exists.

for instance if im in a MVA....Im going to be treated to the best of ability. I will receive full care.

but I do believe where I would have a severe problem getting treatment if my illness was more chronic and the treatment was very expensive.

sometimes somebody just needs to sat enough is enough. one thing that jumps into my head is a HIV patient with severe liver failure from Hep C.....in line for a liver transplant. well he hadnt actually been placed on the transplant list YET....but he was in eval and consideration for it. becasue AIDS wasnt full blown yet and his liver was failing. hospital professionals HAVE TO HAVE TO do whatever it takes to save somebody and it isnt based on their amount of money. (not at my current job anyhow) sometimes I tihnk docs just like to be God

no i know nobody asks for cancer or for severe diabetes or for their heart to go bad at the age of 30. Im just saying there is treatment and most of the people have medicare.

and working for a teaching facility, well it has its ups and down...because we DO pull out all the stops.
