Rituals


I saw a man the other day while walking my dog
The other day while walking his dog a man saw me
We saw each other

With a nod of my head I continued walking
He continued to walk whilst nodding his head
We acknowledged each other

My dog started barking
The dog of the other owner started barking
Our cordial exchange now challenged

I spoke to him in polite tone
In polite tone he spoke to me
We spoke to each other

How interesting those animals are unaware of subtle human rituals
While humans are unaware that we live by them

really like the flow of this
