LOL i prefer dove ice cream over ben and jerry's but the most hilarious b & j reference i'd ever heard was in the movie

bridget jones diary when she says "i'm having a lurid love affair with two men named ben and jerry." hahahahah

I don't think it's most doctors. My child's ENT wanted us to have it done. But..the pediatric doc disagreed.

winx the reason they quit doing this unnecessary procedure, is that they determined swollen tonsils was the bodies way of saying I can not handle solid foods right now.
by taking them out they....eliminated a sore throat, but prolonged the sickness in most cases

I understand both sides. Tonsils have anti-bodies too. I'm just saying that they're are docs still doing it.

Odd - the ped. doc. that didn't want it done was an older timer. He just retired. The ENT was young and at the Children's Hospital and encouraged the surgery. I had said, No, thank you." Then they called me at home asking me again if I wanted to schedule the surgery. We didn't have it but my child does get way too many throat/tonsils infections.

odd??? older doc set to retire no longer needs to do worthless procedures......

young doc knows that it will ensure many more visits to him!!!!

well they removed mine because they were no longer proactive with my immune system.

my sickness was getting worse and worse every year to the point that last year i had lung swelling which had me in the hospital with major problems.

the tonsiles and adnoid removal procedure is done every day still as common as before but it has major criteria now. you have to get sick with specific issues a certain amount of times during a year to qualify and it is a last resort procedure as your tonsiles and adnoids work with your immune system.

but since mine were no longer working with but against my immune system, mine had to go.

i was told this by three non related doctors, not including my PCP.

so i did it.

and i have been told it was going to be painful as an adult and damn they were right. i mean wow.

i have never woken up crying so much in my life.

its cool though. they gave me very good drugs and the benefits outweigh the pain.

EDIT

and i dont understand how you can say it ensures more appointments to the ENT because mine pretty much told me that once my followup is done, i won't need to see him anymore unless i start bleeding out of nowhere or complications arise or if i become sick again which is extremely rare.

he's pretty much told me i'll be saying goodbye to my specialist.

strange how you say i will be seeing him more???

Odd - not because of his age. It was his old time ways.

Hmm...young one and visits. Interesting. But..wouldn't the surgery decrease that one's visits?

your tonsils are actually there taking in the toxins in your body
by removing them its a temp fix,
you still get sick either way.......just takes longer to heal with them out
