I pray that Obama has the wisdom to tell his party to get in line and start serving we the people.

I pray his former opponents will see the wisdom and do the right and patriotic thing...

You said country first... Prove it.

I am agast at the moneies being thrown about like chaff. Were the wind will, falls the grain, yet on the next generation falls the pain...

Has washington gone completely nuts?

People, people, people... There is a future! why are you letting them rape our grandchildren.

personally i think for a guy thats only been in office forty something days i think he's doing the best he can...things will get worse NO DOUBT but i have to say these problems were brought on by bush and others.
but nonetheless Obama will bear the brunt of condemnation, while the real rats scurry away to their nest with the large amounts of money the stole.
but obama is in the limelight,i only dare to think how much worse how much faster these things wouldve happened, personally i dont see anything else he can do,sure some say give us the money ,but lets face it a couple of thousand dollars would only generate small purchases and not be enough to do much else..no bank loans
and after the money is gone then what,no houses or cars wouldve been purchased no big ticket items and lets face it hard to generate an economy on bags full of penny candy.
the only bad thing about this is you have to trust people with money that they couldnt be trusted with in the first place.
one of my problems is..since we did lend our money to all these companies how come there wasnt any interest charge ..after all they wouldve charged us one..
but i think one of the major problems in this whole thing was the LACK OF OVERSIGHT during the bush years including that of the SEC..do any of these people know what theyre doing,
or do they just sit in an office occupying space..with as many people out of work i'm sure we could find someone better...jmo

listen to yourself, and what happens when 'the moneys gone' after he gives it to the banks and corporations? are we going to just keep bailing them out because their sales aren't sufficient to keep them afloat due to people not having jobs or having to cut back on their expenses? either way,it doesn't matter. the end result will be inflation of the money supply which will wipe out the value of the dollar. that's the only way to get people to switch over to the cashless system is to render the cash system null and void. to make it not worth a penny!!

For a minute there, I thought you said "servicing". Arguably, that would be a much better term for what the government does.

The problems we no face were not brought on by BUSH... These problems stem from our failure to deal with the truth of the recessions in the 70's.

* the greed of (charge,use,buy,throw-away,charge) with everyone expecting a free lunch.

*People thinking houses and cars are intitlements instead of something you work for, hand down, and maintain.

There were enough people on all sides of the asle that stepped up and warned that it can not be blamed on one party...

Kinda hard to listen when you are busy lining up your next big steal.

FACE THE FACTS... Members of both parties did not oversight cause that would have shown their hands in the cookie jar.

all the bailouts in the world can't fix this... And they know it... This is simply a blanket to hide what was done.

Who cares which thief started the run... time to minimise the damage(and money ain't going to do it).

it goes back further than the 70's history is being repeated because no one chooses to keep giving themselves an even dose of history with the dose of reality and future that is facing them now.

really?? community reinvestment act was Bush's doing? Did Bush help ACORN sue the Clinton administration to force banks to alter their lending standards to include loans to people that could finance a belt buckle? or was that the currently seated president?

funny how the facts of the matter become inconvenient and irrelevant when Bashing Bush is so much easier.. and far more politically acceptable..

Bush and McCain in 2002 called for investigations into the Fannie/Freddie mess.. and the senate oversight committee took the opportunity to bash the regulators.. nice,,

omg!!!! those videos show all of the democrats back then pushing the community reinvestment act and telling the rest of congress that freddie mac and fannie mae didn't need regulation. their basically saying they saw no possibility of any problems in the future. the republicans are actually trying to at least have them regulated and the dems are getting really upset about it. i guess we now know that the democrats were very shortsighted on this one. this crisis was caused because of the community reinvestment act which after watching these vids i now know for sure was the baby of the dems. they can't blame anyone but themselves on this one.

I'm flabbergasted that you haven't seen this before!

For anyone else who has the slightest inkling of curiosity about the housing collapse, who's to blame, who obstructed regulation and who fought for it, click on the above links.. IT's about 10 minutes of your life and you'll come away more educated about the issue than all the democrat/liberal/socialist brow-beating that goes on around here and on NBC/ABC/CBS/CNN/MSNBC/Comedy Central could hope for!

I don't know of a transcript of the various sound pieces. There must be one out there somewhere but a synopsis would be that you have several democratic congressmen and women berrating the OFEO regulators for calling into question the lending practices of fannie and freddie. Barney Frank, lisp and all, sitting up there on record as saying there wasn't anything in "the report" that raised soundness or safety issues re: fannie/freddie..

features a Republican out of Illinois reading the names of senators and representatives that received 100+% bonuses for sitting onthe board of fannie and freddie, franklin raines $1.1M on $526K salary, jaime gorelick 779,000 bonus on a $500K salary. Franklin Raines calling fannie/freddie assets "so riskless" that capitalization should be less than 2%..

tons of stuff that will make your jaw hit the floor.. stuff Fanta, dragoness, winx et al want to make sure you don't know about.. stuff tey'd rather you ignored.. damning evidence as to who was in charge of the Thelma-and-Louise-mobile that was the fanny/freddie housing market crash...

rose, are you using enternet explorer or firefox? here are the links to what you need to download and install to watch the movies.

http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_ie/

you'll see the green menu on the right, on the top of this green menu is the download button, click it and a window will pop up, click to run the program. or click to save file, remember where it is saved to and double click the file once you have found it's containing folder and let it install.
