China and not the U.S.? Coke is taking a large hit here. We have "store brand" options and many consumers have migrated toward them, decreasing sales of name-brand items like Coke, Oreos, and Brawny. It makes no sense to invest further in a market where your share is waning and is totally out of your control. Coke is simply expanding into a new market instead of wasting money here. They are a global company so it's completely understandable. of course they outsource. the labor is cheaper. they are a business and think about the cost not about Americans that need the jobs. It's natural This isn't outsourcing. It's marketplace expansion. The coke is not being made in China and then shipped to America. It's being made in China for the Chinese. It's just as stupid an idea to ship it all the way here as it is to ship it all the way there. |
