It can be said that the majority of my meet-ups stemming from online dating have been total disasters, especially the last one.

yep I met a guy on here,started seeing him all that good junk.He disappears for a while,come to find out he got thrown in jail and had been in for a month.I was an idiot and decided to give him the benefit of the doubt,and even let him stay with me when his brother kicked him out so he could move his girlfriend in.

That turned out to be the biggest mistake of my life,cause not only was he a raging alcoholic,he had a lengthy criminal record at 25.He ended up almost getting his best friend thrown in jail one night,and me dragged out of his friends house by the cops for a sobriety test(thank god I was sober)that same night.He almost tried to run from the cops in my car,me in the passenger seat almost hysterical,and I almost got arrested that time.

The final straw was when he popped me in the jaw a few days before halloween last year hard enough that he could've broken it.Needless to say he's long gone now and I havent looked back

i'm amazed at how with all of the nice and decent guys out there, most women still manage to find and pick the deadbeats.

That and misrepresentation in profiles. Mine is simple, have a question...ask. Most follow some kind of "looking for prince blahblehblah..." or any variance of that. See now, if honesty actually was in abundence on dating sites such as this there wouldn't really be any horror stories or the like...but apparently that gets confused with "don't want to hurt them" which in turn just becomes a lie.

Luckily after wading through a few failed dates and a few no hitters I've found someone, she lives states away but we both bring each other happiness...and in the long run that is what it is worth. Hopefully it works out for the long run, but it isn't as easy as 'click-date'...well, unless you put a lot of faith in "Mutual Match".
