Blaze, I shave my head. Does that make me a skinhead? Your comment kind of sounds prejudicial and might have been better off being kept to yourself. I'm a big believer that when someone calls someone a name, or puts them into a category having no knowledge as to who they are, it says more about the person doing the name calling than the person at which the name is called.

I get pulled over at least 3 times a month...because of the way I look, I wouldn't be surprised if he really didn't do anything.

Skinhead punks are really, really easy to pick out of a crowd...like really easy.

I'm with the cops on this one...He appeared violent, and I called him a skinhead, but he looked kind of ordinary, dressed ordinary, just had a crew cut...When he yelled that he hadn't done anything, one of the cops said, "You punched me in the face," and he had the bloody nose to show for it...He was kicking and screaming, but they subdued him with minimal force from what I saw. There was no excessive brutality, they didn't lay into him when he was down, they dragged him up and hauled him away...And the people with him more or less reacted bemused, like this sort of thing happens regularly...They were either friends or enemies of his, but they obviously knew him.

He was one of those people you just know is naturally violent from the anger stamped on their face. Anyone who can read people well enough would know, this wasn't a distressed "why the hell are they doing this to me," look, this was a "I hate the world" look, and when he was brought up, he glared at the people gathered with a menacing smear that said, "I hate you all and I hope you all die."

Skinhead punks have been around since before I was born, they are kind of like a cross between a fly and mental inability. They listen to punk music, usually thrash or hardcore with a dab of "white power". Really just useless pukes.

Ok...like I said...I was born and raise in Germany. You don't have to explain to me what a skinhead is. However, I'm gonna be a smartass about this:

Punks

A subculture started in the 70's, originating from either the United States or the United Kingdom. Similar in some aspects to the hippy movement of the 60's and early 70's. Commonly confused with emo, metal heads, skins, and goths. Punk has developed it's own genre of music known as punk rock. This genre is commonly confused with emo music, gothic rock, pop rock, metal, other headbanging music, and music by groups or individual artists claiming to be punks. Another misconception is that punk is based on fashion. While the punks have developed an image similar to what is generally referred to as punk fashion, the movement is rather based on ideas and messages suck as liberalism and anarchy. The movement has recently been in decline, as more corporations such as hot topic, and various goods distributors seem to be in a sense buying the bands and icons in order to increase the sale of their products.


Skinheads

A movement started in Britain in the 60s when the mod scene met the hippy scene. The mod scene split, and the "hard mods", the ones who hated hippies, got harder. With a little influence from Jamacian rudeboys, the skinhead was born out of the hard mod. Most of the music was held over from the mod days, but there were ska and reggae imported from the rude boys.

In the 70s, many punk-rockers became Skinhead, Skrewdriver among them, and brought Oi! and RAC into the scene.

Skinheads represent the working class, and fight with honor.

There are 4 main types of Skinheads:

Traditional Skinheads (Rejects all politics and labels)

Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice (SHARP) Anti-racist Skinheads

White Power/National Socialist(Neo-Nazi) Racist Skinheads

Red Anarchistic Skinheads (RASH)
Communist Skinheads

There's also GASH (Gay Aryan Skinheads), but they're just a joke.

The general "uniform" of the Skinheads are flight jackets, Fred Perry's/polo shirts/dress shirts, Levi 501s/tight jeans, steelcap combat boots (Doc Martens, Gripfasts, and others), and either shaved head or close-cut hair. Sideburns are common.

Generally, skinheads reject hard drugs, although drinking and smoking are common.

Skinheads love to go out drinking with the boys, get rowdy, and kick a few skulls in.

Skinheads work for a honest, working-class living with their own sweat and blood.
