Topic: Hi everyone over 50!!!

iam kind of new to the forum of the over 50 myself and i was just wondering if anyone ever mets and writes to each other off this??? It happens, post a lot, let everyone know who you are and see what happens, lot's of wonderful people in here. WELCOME

Hey, Dove. Yes, people tend to gravitate to threads they feel comfortable in. Search around & see what fits your thought pattern. Most of us like the 50's because it is a little quieter than some. People close to our age & thoughts.

Now, this is a bit heavy...having been married most of my life but widowed for a year, I decided to go to a place where they do Zydeco dancing. Most everyone was around my age and the whole atmosphere was so different from what I expected. Everyone was very nice and I was asked to dance several times, which was also nice. But I noticed the men were more into the dancing than in trying to pick somebody up or whatever, which I found to be somewhat refreshing. Has anyone noticed what I'm talking about when they go out? I guess my point is that high school dances or dancing in your 20's had a whole different feel to it...governed by hormones maybe?

When I went to a place for Ballroom dancing, it was the very same. The men were there to dance, and since the women out numbered them, they were dancing all night!

Good question! I think it's really nice that everyone posts back and forth and responds to topics but does anyone ever really get to know anyone in a special way? I have developed some great friendships with many of the people here. Wish more of us could meet & party. Phone conversations bring us as close as poss. right now.

I think it would be romantic if two people wrote for quite awhile and then got on a plane and met each other somewhere. Can't you just see it...recognizing each other and running through the airport and he sweeps you up off of your feet and spins you around while saying, "You're more beautiful than I imagined!"
