Do you love with your entire heart, or do you hold back a little to help you recover if your heart should become broken? Yup. With all my heart. |

Do you love with your entire heart, or do you hold back a little to help you recover if your heart should become broken? When I read this question my honest taking of it was...fear. Are we afraid to love with our whole heart? Who wants to tear down their wall that they so painstakingly built on issues of broken marriages/ relationships. That's a wall that we have fear to tear down. I think sometimes it's about taking risks for love. I think we need to first get to know who someone is. It's also about trust. Really... knowing that every person we run into in our life whether a happy memory or a sad memory we learn from them all. That is the blessing of relationships be it good or bad. We are to become better because of them. |

Here's an analogy someone gave me: Love is like standing on the edge of a cliff. you can stand and peek over the edge and wonder what the fall will be like or you can jump and embrace it. Even if you are shattered on the rocks below, what a ride! And, of course, there is always the chance that something magical will happen on the way down.

I have learned that there are different levels of love. My husband of 26 years died and he was the love of my life. I have had a couple of relationships since his death 3 years ago and though I "loved" these two men, they could not even begin to compete with the level of love that I had for my husband (even when we first met 27 years go).
