Why is it that when I "nudge" a guy, he doesn't even reply? I even emailed a guy here on Mingle who said he'd reply if a woman did more than just nudge. He hasn't even been true to his word. Why is this?

Alot of guys visit my profile but don't write. The ones I've nudged or emailed don't answer. Is it me or maybe I need a revamp on my profile.

I like most of the people here on Mingle. They've all been so nice to me and I've made a few friends.

I will never understand that kind of behavior, but I know it exists.

Not too long after I first signed up, I tried e-mailing a few of the locals who were traipsing through my "People You Might Be Interested In," basically just trying to welcome them to the site, and get some sort of dialogue going.

Not one ever bothered to reply.

I really don't think the problem was with my e-mails -- I've written two books, and most people seem to think my writing and communications skills are pretty decent, so....?

My own policy is to write everybody back -- unless it's a scammer or a spammer or some obvious nutball whackjob (which have been few and far between on this site!)

If no one ever emails first, then there would be no communication. I'm pretty sure that people in my generation grew up with manners. What I want to know is what happened.
