'Charming'...can be just that... to charm someone.... to create an attachment through false manipulative behaviours....

There is a great book out called... "Why charming men, make dangerous lovers"....

Ted Bundy was 'charming'................

Note to self. Never be charming. Just stay your obnoxious self....

Yep. May as well just be a jackass.

We men have so many strikes against us before we even get up to bat that it's a wonder anyone ever manages to find anyone else these days.

Sorry that does not work either. Jackasses are a dime a dozen.

You just need to show some respect for others.. (not just some woman you are trying to impress... all others) and show some confidence in yourself, and go about your business and you will attract women.

Still, I'd rather be with a genuine jackass (not a mean one though) than a fake charmer. Being genuine is more important than being truthful and no, they aren't the same thing, IMO.

It used to be that if a man was charming, it was a positive characteristic.

But from personal experience, the men that are charming turn out to be the manipulators, the liars, the users...

I now instinctively distrust anyone what comes off as charming. Doesn't mean I want to be treated badly. But if someone is too charming, I start thinking he is too smooth and he must be up to something.

Hope I'm not the only one...

You're not the only one. And you're right; charming guys really are scoundrels! They are up to something.

"Charming" is great if you are Rock Hudson, Cary Grant, Gene Kelly, Harrison Ford, etc... But most guys dont measure up to that kind of character virtues.
