The Hills Have Eyes? OH BOO. That wasn't even scary...just a lil nasty. Silent Hill was creepy as hell, but overdone. Amityville Horror was OK, but for some reason The Grudge scared the crapola out of me.

Oh, and to snuggle up with a woman...The Notebook is still a good choice, but my personal fave is "That Last Kiss" with Zach Braff.

argento has some gory ones, and blood diamond was real, and is happening worse and more frequently now. audiobook's better though, unabridged version.
best to experience it first hand though, new orleans basin street projects can help. carry weapons. good luckdrinker drinker

Try the Japanese and Korean Horror films. They lean towards the creepy and spooky rather than just the body count.

Nothing really scares me anymore but the Saw movies are pretty gruesome....surprised
