This is just question for people interested in Tarot cards.

I am designing another tarot card deck and building a web site showing the cards. The deck will have two completely different major arcana groups and a single minor arcana group. You can use one of the Major arcana groups with your deck and the other one just for Major arcana readings.

There will be a total of 104 card designs.

Rather than having them printed and packaged for sale and rather than printing and laminating (an cutting) them myself, for others, which is a lot of work, I am thinking about creating a download package that has instructions on how to print and prepare them by laminating and cutting them yourself.

I am wondering if there are any people who would be interested in this product. I am not selling it right now. I am just asking for input on the idea. I still have a lot of work to finish on the website and on the designs.

Do you think this is a product people would like?

It sounds like something that would work, mostly when you find this type of person that reads the tarot you will find that they have cards that mean something to them, handed down, or self made. It helps in the communication and therefore the accuracy of the reading... So if and when you do set up your site you should think of other things that you could go with... like runes and other reading tools that are easily drawn, printed, or mailed... Just an idea.

I will be adding to the site by writing articles and tarot card interpretations and articles on how to do readings etc.

I don't know anything about runes so I will probably just stick to tarot. Later, after we get our printed deck on the market I will sell that from the site also, but it will not be for download it will be a printed deck.

I want to put a chat room on the site for doing readings and having discussions too.

I am trying to decide how to put together the files for the download. There are several approaches to creating your own deck. It's not as easy as you might think. Cutting the cards has always been my biggest problem. Getting the printing to line up on both sides of the paper is another problem.

Of course if you don't want to get all fancy and laminate them or buy the special paper that prints on both sides you can always just print the deck on good quality thick card stalk and cut them with a paper cutter and when they wear out, just do it again.

The PDF files would have 8 cards on an 8 1/2" X 11" sheet. To print an 80 card deck it takes ten sheets of card stock. To laminate it takes 20 sheets of laminating paper.

It is a good idea to practice cutting them before you do your final deck. You can round the corners with photo corner rounding cutters.

With those files, including a few designs for the backs to choose from, and an instruction book, what would be a price that people would gladly pay?
