Acid In Eyes For Vengeful Lover


Acid will be dripped into the eyes of an Iranian man after he blinded the woman who spurned his marriage proposals, reports claim.

A Sharia court ordered the punishment based on the system of "qisas" or fair retribution, the Etemad-e Melli newspaper said.

The man, identified only as Majid, proposed several times but was spurned by the woman, known as Ameneh, the daily paper reported.

In revenge, he threw acid in her face as she left her work in 2004, it added.

She travelled to Spain for surgery to reconstruct her face but efforts to restore her sight failed.

On returning to Iran, she asked the court for retribution, the newspaper said.

"Ever since I was subject to acid being thrown on my face, I have a constant feeling of being in danger," she said, adding that Majid had also threatened to kill her in the past.

The newspaper published pictures of Ameneh's face before the attack and, still disfigured, after reconstructive surgery.

Majid was quoted as saying he did not regret his action but added: "I threw acid on her face so that she would be mine forever.


Judges "unanimously decided to sentence the accused to 'qisas' of his body part, blinding by acid" and to pay compensation, the report said.

Judiciary officials could not be reached for comment.

The concept of qisas also holds in other cases in Iran, like murder.

A victim's family can demand the death of a convicted murderer or commute the sentence in return for financial compensation from the culprit.


How about that? This is the true justice, the way I understand it. What would we do? Give him few years, so that he can come out for a good behavior and continue his marriage pursuits, while someone else life is irreversibly changed by his actions.

According to Sharia law, he will be subjected to acid in his eyes till he is blind forever, his face disfigured, and then he will pay the fine to the victim.

Not talking about everything in their laws. But, this, to me is nothing but total justice.

Wow. I guess that's what they mean by "an eye for an eye"

When the acid was thrown on her face, it was completely unexpected. This guy is going to be held down while someone pours the acid in his eyes and on his face all the while being completely aware of what is going on. Gives me chills just thinking about it!

The above verse is quite clear about the superiority of men over women.

You know I think it's pretty damned funny to see posts like this.

Not because I have any sympathy for this ****.

Here is why...

I see posts here from right wing religious idiots who seem to think any damned thing the bible prescribes is right but they don't stop there they seem to think everyone should have to follow those rules.

Know what the bible says about women and children?

It's pretty friggin horrible.

So....post some stories about idiots who act horrifically in the name of Islam and then step back and wait for some stories about idiots who act in the name of their Christian God.

Evil abusive ignorant people are all over the place.

Wanna quote the Bible? It prescribes some fairly ugly acts.

I don't know if this guy acted in the name of Islam, but I doubt it.

What interests me, is the subject of justice, and what happens to society which despises justice. I am not interested in either religious dogmas, ours or theirs.

I just read that, and thought: "Damn, they are just. I would do much worse to that man". This is because even if he gets his own medicine, to me the justice is incomplete, as she had not chosen to become blind with this idiot. He was the one to make the decision. So, I would do worse, much worse.

But, I know, that everyone understands justice differently. Just wondering what other folks think of it.

we got big bullfrogs at the pond down by my house...
i spent several nights trying to catch them last summer...till i almost fell in the pond..

my son wanted a pet.
those bullfrogs were gigantic!!!

In this country he would get a substantial sentence and what would happen to this individual 'behind the walls' could never make up for his actions however he would likely end up being released via pine casket. That is the reality of the situation.

Just saying,
If she had accepted and married him, she, according to Mohammed and Allah, would have been his property. In the marriage, had she been unfaithful, he'd have had every right to do as he wished, even blinding her, and the Sharia Courts would have done nothing. He would have been doing as commanded.

And she would forever pay her taxes to feed him, clothe him, provide a medical care for him.

Why?

I think what they decided to do is beautiful in justice, dirt cheap and simple.

Do not want acid in your eyes? Simple, do not throw it into the eyes of others!
