After the posting here about Detroit dying this article caught my eye. Is your city on the list?

Call it a modern-day tale of two cities.

For decades, Las Vegas, ripe with new construction and economic development, burgeoned into a shimmering urban carnival. Detroit, once the fulcrum of American industry, sagged and rusted under its own weight.

These days, it's the worst of times for both.

Las Vegas edged Detroit for the title of America's most abandoned city. Atlanta came in third, followed by Greensboro, N.C., and Dayton, Ohio. Our rankings, a combination of rental and homeowner vacancy rates for the 75 largest metropolitan statistical areas in the country, are based on fourth-quarter data released Feb. 3 by the Census Bureau. wow, atlanta surprises me. remember "hotlanta?"

peoria is getting there fast.

caterpillar axed 7,000.....even some of their many, many, MANY imported indians are having to go back to india. (true story, known to me!)

a major hospital is a snakepit and cess poll of dirty, messy, cluttered and unhygeniec environments, bizarre managers, poorly coordinated care from physicians and nurses, unprofessional nurses in ratty uniforms and filthy soiled shoes........

and of course, such typical denial and self-approbation!

they should go to confession, LMAO.

Two things come to mind when reading that article.
1)Considering some of those cities listed are notorious for having a lot of illegal immigrants, and the flow of those has been slowing, maybe that has something to do with it, so it would be considered a good thing.

2) If these cities are emptying out, where are the people going. Author sucks for not adding that info to the article (kind of a no brainer that it would be expected to be included), surprised he was allowed to submit it as is.

As far as "hotlanta" goes LOL, they kinda made it look like the main headquarters of militant, racist blacks with that Housewives of Atlanta mess. I laughed my arse off at those broads wearing so much money and still acting so ghetto, thinking they had class.
