Interested in
Getting to “know me”
Smitten by my words
Typed out and
Unheard
Pretty rhyming
Fonts tripping ever
So gracefully
Across a
High resolution
Screen
My face unseen
But fantasized about
And blown up
Into a twisted
Dali like portrait
Unrealistically
Colorful
Yet oddly
Lovely…

Well, I’ve been
Down this road
So long and winding
It’s endlessly
Tiresome and
I’m always finding
That it’s a trek leaving me
With blistered feet and
Worn out shoes
Still standing
Alone
At the end of the journey…

Yes, I’ve done the chasing
And I’ve been the one chased
I’ve flirted with the unknown
Yet it’s always been a waste
Of time resulting in
Neither one of us
Being caught
The way I hoped
And thought
We would be…

I’ve ridden this
Merry go round
So many times
They call me
Dizzy MsWizzie...

Now, I just want off
So I can stand
Quietly still
With somebody
Sharing a
Moment in time
I hope to find
Infinite and real
Not having to feel
That I have to live up
To someone’s
Unrealistic
Expectations

So without hesitation
I’ll have to pass on
This invitation
Thank you for
Thinking of me
But at this point
I’d rather be
Alone
On my own
Than someone’s
Living fantasy
Soon destined
To be cold
Disappointing
Reality …
