There is no competition among teachers.
If we paid to private teachers, we would get 10 times better education for 10 times less money. Consider this a side benefit, but a private teacher might also actually teach, as opposed to brainwash our children. A private teacher might show them early on that Central Bank is anti-american and wealth redistribution is socialism. |

The harm they are doing to the quality of education is disgusting. One of the reasons I did not become a high school math teacher is because I did not want to have to deal with the NEA. |

not to mention the 14 holidays. I can't even name 14 holidays and I've never worked a job that gave me more than 4. My co-worker and I were just talking about this the other day. One of our suggestions to the city I work for was to stop giving so many paid holidays. We are even getting Cesar Chavez Day in March and my kids still have school that day!  It's a huge waste of money. Btw, I agree with everything else you said too. |
