People who know each other well and have been together a long time can still be just having sex. I thing the proper word for the first part of the OP is a "hook-up". Which is usually less than sex. Just a f*ck.

Some people don't know the difference, that is why they are single. The rest just don't have the time. I work 6 days a week. Thats why i'm single.

Working 6-7 days a week never weakened the sex/lovemaking in any relationship of mine.
As a fact, being a millworker, and cased goods stacker, the more years that I worked, the more untiring of lovemaking I became. I understand that smarter jobs don't do that. And I dig that irony.
