well, i try to be friend with a guy from " who viewed my profile" and sent him a hi and thank you message for viewing my page . I got surprised when I read his message this morning(Philippines Time) the message goes like this....

"I will be friends with anyone, but i want to let you know up front. I don't have the money to bring some one to the u.s".

- I cant believe this!Have been in this site for quite long years and this is my first time to received a message like this..What is wrong with this guy?If he do not like and have no interest to make friends with others especially from my country, why he just ignore my message... I feel sorry for this kind of people....negative thought attracts negative forces...Now I'm beginning to believe that no nice, good and decent man that still exist nowadays....

I don't know the guy, but maybe he is just a little jaded. I have had experience with some foreign contacting me and so far they have fallen into two types either she is ready to start talking about marriage after talking for a couple of days or she is only interested as long as she thinks you have the money to bring her to the U.S.
The first thing I say to a foreign woman who contacts me is that I'm not rich and don't make a lot of money. It is not intended to be an insult to all foreign women, but at some point you have to watch out for yourself.

in the guys defense, there are a lot of women from other countries that are just looking for a guy to fund their immigration.

maybe he's just had the experience of being contacted by many such women.

was it wrong to assume that the OP was such a woman? probably.
did it lack tact? probably.

i can't blame the guy for being up front and wanting to avoid what he perceived to be a potential scam.

well if he only told me that he is only a simple and normal guy with enough earning for himself only, i think i wont mind at all as friends but being too upfront by saying those things are really unacceptable for me that i feel like he misjudge me without knowing me first...i am just trying to be nice and friendly and mean no harm to anybody.

I agree, and being that these female scammers are branching out, a lot of guys are willing to take a chance with someone from a different region.

I think he was just letting you know up front where he stands.

If that was the first thing he responded with, perhaps he was a bit paranoid? I don't know. Sure, there are scams out there, but assuming anyone from a different country is one of them is kind of silly. That's just me, though.

I was on another site ( not going to mention the name ) and I got 15 responses on that site. Out of those 15...exactly 1 was an actual woman in my area.

12 of them were Russian scams looking to get money..and the other 2 were Nigerian scams.

That guy has probably run into the same kind of thing and just decided to be overtly blatant about the fact that he won't be sending money to anyone.

I don't know if you are aware of this but the Philippines is one of the main places now where the female scammers are coming from, and Davao City is too, which is where Tessa is from, even though she is not one of those types of women.

Tessa it wasn't you, it's the scammers that are all over the internet.. He was just protecting himself and letting you know up front that's not what he's able to do.. Don't take it personal...

well, i do not take it too personal....my point here is that....he should not be in a dating site if he thinks or suspect that every woman who will contact him is just up to his money or will only use him as a passport in going to U.S....he can say that in a nice way if he is a nice person....i guess at his age he already know who are true and fake people....
