Cause nobody can find it or knows we are here. The road looks like a driveway and all you see is the very first house. Everyone thinks that's all that's up here. It's very private and I wouldn't have it any other way.

There's a little bit of everything here. NYC to the west. Farms and wineries to the east. Lots of great beaches, culture, things to do, and everyone from the rich and famous to the local homeless crack whores.

Well, that's a long list!
Clean air, clean water, well educated, low crime, oozing w/ charm, nature and beauty, liberal, great schools and college, very green(1st electric smart-grid town in the nation), more sunny days than Miami, dry cold, beautiful seasons, high concentration of entrepreneurial minded/self employed folk, big on green space conservation, Camping CLOSE BY - in every direction, a clean creek through the middle of town, beautiful to watch seasons change, small population, nothing is more than 5 minutes away, most bike paths in US, on and on ... And(drum roll, please), VERY protective of the rights to practice Natural Medicines Arts. Huge factor for me. I'm having a hard time not living in the freedom that was Europe!( ... in many ways ... ) |

We have a hitching post at the grocery store and it's used frequently. It's not uncommon to be following a horse and buggy down the road (beware of patties!). Kids can still feel free to walk to the park and find other kids there to play with. You can call on your neighbors to help start a dead battery or watch a child for a quick moment while you run to the store. The local radio station still gives birth and death announcements. You give directions to your house by landmarks, not road names, or you just tell people who used to live there for 100 years before you bought the house....

The homeless guy that drives his lawn mower around town.
The cops that eat at McDonough's every single day at 12:15 sharp. The little skater kids that terrorize our elderly population. The elderly population that terrorize our little skater kids. The awesome hiking trails (and un-trails). The best flea market ever. And, me! |

A lot of it is below sea level. It doesn't snow here but it does less than 100 miles away. Roses bloom all year around.
