i am worried about my self i feel really behind people in general, i only had one official job my whole life it was part time i quit slash got fired from. i really wanna change my self but as much as i tell my self that its the actually doing it i cant seem to do.
i guess i am workin on certian aspects i been lookin for jobs but i dont drive and am a drop out so my options are some what i think... limited.
i dont know why i made this post i just want to know if any one else has asimilar situation or had any good advice or motivation for my sorry azz.
i just know people my age that have all ready done so much more with life than i have it i dunno kinda makes me angry at my self.

Been there, done that...have my GED now and a full-time job at 7-11. Not exactly "high-class" but like f* I care...it's something I didn't have 2 years ago, and I'm away from a life that would have put me in prison or six feet under in an average of 3-5 years.

Just do it is all I can say, find a way to get where you need to go. Bus, walk, buy a bike they are cheap and what I use at times. Get on your feet and get a car, move up...life is directed by you, not the other way around.

find a way to get that diploma. and then.. start small. small jobs suck but its a job. you're gonna have to find a way to live in this world or you'll really suffer.

got anyone to help you while you go back to school? and once you do that... there are job aids out there...

well dude one thing i learned after leaving the navy... is it is never too late to fix things and it's never too late to start a new career.

I always put off college because of many dumb reasons.

Finally someone showed me i could actually do it and i tried... now i am on my way to 2 doctorates from a dual major.

Even if you dropped out you can still get a GED and then go to a comunity college.

Another thing i learned was that of all the work out there... which is much much less now, you still will never go far without an education... everyone asks for degrees over experience and sometimes both!!

even as a professional meat cutter in FL i would only have ever made roughly 30k a year AFTER 20 years. Yeah i can live off of that, but barely. and god forbid having money if i wanted a family.

yet most people with a college degree will leave making 30k to 100k after leaving college. generally the longer your degree takes to finish the higher the wages will be.

still plenty of time...

get your GED...and then hunt the classifieds.

and then figure out what you want to do forever..

contemplate retirement plans, insurance benefits, and job security

Here's my two bits.

Bit #1: The economy has diddly to do with success and happiness. I'm 54, and beat out dozens of hot young eager people for my job. And I was homeless and studied by the light of streetlamps to pass the tests for the job. In winter. In Alaska. And I've got a partial disability.
Attitude gets the job. Have goals, and be willing to shovel snow until you land jobs that lead to fulfilling your goals. If you don't know what your goals are, and have no plan/timeline to reach them, employers will find people with goals and determination (dependability).

Bit #2: Dare to commit to success. I've got a minor degree that is essentially worthless on its own, and has zero to do with my job, but it shows that I can commit and stick with it--and I can be trained.
When your deeds/actions match your attitude to achieve your goals, success comes within reach.
Wardrobe/grooming carries weight, expressing the fact that you are willing to compete to get and win at interviews, regardless of whether the job is in blue jeans and muck. Read: What Color Is Your Parachute? It can save you lots of pain.

Self-confidence bro. That is key. The self derision will keep you exactly where you stand. I have no higher education but, with confidence and a STRONG WORK ETHIC, I rule my part of the company I work for.

A positive attitude goes a long way in not only gaining employment....but small things like showing up on time and not complaining makes a huge difference in a work/social environment.

Let's face it...everyone can find something to complain about...finding the positive angles is the real trick.

You need to get a job, any job, and whatever it is, work hard at it. Whilst doing this job always keep looking for other better jobs, and move into them if you can. Keep working your butt off, because one day it will help get you somewhere. After a couple of years slog you might start to develop a career with prospects.

I was working for a small R&D outfit in Albuquerque when they lost their grant funding (Sept 11 recession) and had to lay me off

the Vice President made me dress up and drove me in his car to several other hi tech firms and lobbied them to hire me. I had another job within a week. I'll be grateful to him the rest of my life for showing me that kind of respect

the moral is to make yourself the best at what you do and you will always have a job

Hey, the military is hiring too. You can get your GED, learn some skills, save some dollars, see the world. Just because you are in the military doesn't mean you are at the front with a gun in your hand. Check out the Reserves or Natural Guard.

Army Reserves are paying HUGE bonuses right now. My friends from work signed up and will get 30K when she finishes training. Plus you would get your GED and a chance for further education. You may also end up in a foreign country fighting a war.... but you're probably better off than you are now.

Young man...you have many options.....

The fact of the matter is.......Its up to YOU to make a decision, and follow through with it.

Its not gonna be "instant" gratification, but lots of work. You seem to want better, the trick is to work toward that goal.

Young people, seem to want to start out at the top. That just does not happen, in most cases, unless you have relatives that can put you there.
Most don't

GED
Classes
Military

The economy is bad, and will probably get worse before it gets better..soo......make a plan, work on making it better for YOU..

Good luck..flowerforyou
