Topic: Who Prays for You. | |
---|---|
I am the prayer chaplain coordinator for the church where I am a member. We have a group of prayer chaplains that call each member once a month, to see if they have any prayer needs, and pray with them. We also have usually two chaplains available after Sunday services to pray with the congregants. We also attend board meetings, other events, respond to phoned in requests for prayer.
Do you have someone that you pray with on a regular basis? How do you feel when you know someone is praying with/for you? Do you feel it makes a difference is the physical world or do the changes happen 'inside' of you? |

I usually do prayers on my own. I have no problem with people praying for me or wishing me good thoughts (whatever they believe is) it's a good feeling to think other people care enough

We have a prayer book at church and people list their needs in it. The names are also listed in the church bulletin. I never ask people to pray for me though. I don't know why. Maybe because I see so many prayer requests constantly.

I think I just don't like to burden anyone with my problems. Weird, huh? If I was really upset about something and I told you about it, I would end the conversation making sure I convinced you that I was really okay. Maybe I need therapy. |

I have not had the need for myself personally a lot, but when I do I love it and of course it makes a difference. And it can make changes in both. I have seen prayer where it's really a miracle and what that does to the person as well as the people around them. I also see what it does to me inside.......It makes me so Love the Lord and so grateful for all the Lord does in my life and the life of others. I have seen the Lord do some mighty powerful work right here on Mingle. We also have a prayer chain at Open Bible where I go....Mighty Mighty powerful prayer warriors....and yes I have put prayers from here there. Nice thread sweets. |

My former Pastor and Dear Friend in Alabama prays for and with me.
Knowing someone is praying for me gives me peace and contentment. Matthew 18[20] For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. There is great power in prayer! James 5[16] Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. |

I don't have someone I pray with on a regular basis, I usually pray alone...but I currently just sorta joined a church...felt I really needed to..something was missing from my life....I may soon become a member of such a group...and I do think God listens...he might not do anything...but he listens...

Some of our prayer chaplains had not much experience with praying for others, and were reluctant to have others pray for them. And it seems that, in general those who do the praying, are kinda shy about asking for prayer. We decided to have 'prayer partners' for the chaplains. Each month we met a few times, face to face or on ph. to pray with/for our fellow chaplains. We have found it makes it easier to pray for others, and to express our own needs too.

Well I am going to be praying for those chaplains also. We pray after our bible study on Wednesdays and say anyone or any situation that needs to be prayed for. I myself personally believe in open prayer. I understand that a lot don't. But if I am in a prayer thread and someone needs prayer and the Lord leads me to do so...I do it right then and there...and for me this is why....they asked for prayer and as much as I believe you can say ok I will pray....I do so right then. I find for me that right then and there prayer from the Lord of course is powerful powerful stuff.... |

By the way, Jesus intercedes in prayer for us!
How Awesome is that!!! Romans 8[34] Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. |

I pray for all the wrong reasons. Winning the lottery, getting laid, etc...
If someone I care about is hurting, emotionally, or physically, I will send some prayers their way. Note: I'm not a Christian, but sometimes I pray to my higher power. |
