Yesterday a lost soul-broken young girl struggled to find her way
Never daring to let anyone too near it was always easy to just move on
Memories licked the darkness, then shrank back like flames in a barrel;
On and on she wandered, the moon her only companion
“Who am I?” she screamed to the indifferent stars
They just shimmered on their inky blanket of sky
Tears now ran in rivers
“Why are things so blurred?”
Day by day the search continued
Night after night she looked to the sky.
“I need guidance, how will I know who really cares?”
Heart full of pain head full of confusion
She needed to trust, just once
The weight of the world was finally too much.

Today a young woman welcomes each day
Sadness has faded, worthlessness was a lie.
Her strength and courage remain tested,
Hope sometimes tries to wander but it never gets far
She dares to dream and hunts the future, what will await?
When storm clouds gather, and the rain begins shelter is never far.
Volcanoes of emotion never have erupted again.
Every piece to the puzzle now found, the ground is rock solid
And when it's not she'll know where to go
The journey is over
At last she's home
Blessed not in birth but by living, searching

Momma I just wanted to say thank you for not only being there when there were too many tears being shed to remember exactly why but for reminding me that faith and hope are real things and nobody is worthless life is never eternally dark and hopeless sometimes it just takes awhile for the sun to shine. in a lot of ways you mean more to me than my real mother ever has in all my 22 years on this earth. you are the most wonderful mom anyone could ever ask for adopted or not. yea i know at 22 moms aren't really a necessity but they're great to have anyway. I Love You Mom!!!
