Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. I love this. I have it saved on my computer. On the bird page I used to go on and be a moderator on, when a bird would pass, we would always post this. Its just beautiful! Thank you for this! Brings tears when I read it everytime.

 Okay, here's how this works. Towards the end of every month I will ask for folks to be Secret Pals to someone for the following month. Presently, I am seeking Secret Pals for April. If you would like to participate, write me and give me your home address. Once I have the names of all who would like to participate for that month, I will assign secret pals. You must be willing to share your home address You are to send the person I assign you for that month a surprise, i.e., a card, a note, a refrigerator magnet, a bookmark, a lottery ticket, a postcard.... anything specific to that member or your area would be great, but it can be whatever you choose. If anyone has any objections to sending to another country, let me know when you sign up The list will change monthly, so if you want to participate again the following month, you must wrte me and let me know you want to participate again. This is a good reason to start a scrap book! When you receive something from your secret pal, come back here and let us know. If, after you sign up to be a Secret Pal, you find, for whatever reason, you cannot participate, please let me know so I can make other arrangements for the pal you've been assigned to. It isn't fair to leave someone hanging, expecting something from someone. If you fail to follow through, or let me know you're dropping out, you will be disqualified from taking part in the Secret Pal Exchange in the future. I am removing myself from being eligible as a Secret Pal, so I may serve as back-up should someone pal find they cannot participate as planned. |
