It’s Valentine’s Day
All around me I feel the anticipation Growing Young faces glowing Such sweet surprise Glimmering in eyes Watching showers Of flowers Arrive Handed out Accompanied by Love notes Badly scripted With devotion Depicted in awkward Words dictated Yet unheard Safely presented in small envelopes to be opened by That lucky lady Finally finding her own Prince Charming ... But what is a Valentine? Is it a rose or a card That says “Be Mine”? Impatiently Thoughtlessly Picked up at the Last possible moment From the local drug store Or airport souvenir shop? Is a box of candy Delivered to your door Eaten Given away or gone to waste In a matter of days Soon to be forgotten? Perhaps a Valentine Is really given every day In little ways Those special moments Of sharing between Two people caring Enough to Take the time Out of an often Hectic day To say “I Love You” Could Valentines’ be All those little things That remind you Of why you were Brought together In the first place? A look on a face That says “I’m so glad we found each other?” I don’t know It’s so hard to say Valentine’s Day Could be all that And more Perhaps one day It will find my door Bringing sweet surprise To my own empty eyes … @Feb 14 2009 |

i'm again compelled to say WOOOT! i really ejoyed it.
So funny story. I sent someone flowers and a card for valentines day and it ended up being shipped 3 hours away!! but she'll get them still luckily. just not sure when. 
Two hearts beat as one Side by side Now and forever How can there be a day A single day To celebrate the magic of love Would it not take an eternity For one to express Just how much we love That special someone Our giding light Our northern star That means the world to us And so much more How can a gift say all that Chocolates Never They last for a day Like a one night stand Flowers Never They last for months If you're lucky Like a fling A teddy bear Never You may lose it Like the one you let go That you should've held on to So I wonder Why a day has been said To be the day of lovers |
