I was at a dinner and asked a retired couple of good engineers of what they make of Ron Paul. They responded with laughter and justified that if you think we need to remove FED and IRS, then you are an idiot. These are way smarter than average people, mind you.
But, as you can see, they are still not thinking. They are only thinking within "a mental area" that their government outlined for them to think in. I am almost ready to conclude that humans do not deserve freedom. |

Being structural engineers, the tend to trust other "specialists". They think every other specialist is as real as they are. When I asked on why FED and IRS and such, they simply repeated the dogmas of Keynes and Friedman to me.
This makes me think that I should not have used the word smart to describe folks like this, but instead use term "skilled". |
