Myself I wouldn't date a person of a different color but that is my choice. I have a neice who has two young biracial boys who has to pay the price because the white parents don't want them playing with their children as does the other parents. They are left out and looked upon differently.

following generations are usually more tolerant of these kinds of things..some studies suggest generation y is the most tolerant/flexible...relative to gen x, baby boom..pre-baby boom...however, times are getting tougher..tolerance will sure be tested.

Curious -- this is somewhat of an oddball question, but somewhat relevant, being that: "Myself I wouldn't date a person of a different color but that is my choice." Does this point of view affect business decisions. For example, assume for a moment that you are an employer and that you are considering hiring two equally qualified employees. One is of your race, and the other is not, which would you hire?

And here you go...my first exposure to rant

I got an email from someone who had been on my "mutual match" list for over a year and never contacted me. He sends me an email today asking me if I can't find a good white man.

I'm all for it!!!!! Have dated many different races. There's more to what's inside than what's on the outside. In the dark.....we all feel the same. Who cares what color they are in the light. It's more of a "can you live w/ one another's cultural differences" than anything.

there is absolutely no way you could EVER convince me to date out of my race. period.

horses just don't turn me on...

that said, "race" is a social construct and doesn't biologically exist...i like my men in all flavors.

No matter what stygma is attached to it, men are men and women are women. The cultural differences do not signify that we should not be together.

I think that variety is the spice of life and how can you get 'spicy" without the variety?

 bigsmile

i know mabey for some people where you live there may not be as many people of whichever other race around. but i still dont get how in 2009 people are asking if that would make a difference? if you were blind and they had three difference girls or guys describe themselves you wouldnt be able to exclude one for race or size or appearence it would be for exactly what you like about that person. and thats how it should be. i am smart enough to know this world will never grow out of race issues but this is something except for those who shouldnt be in the gene pool, could be over come.
