I've been feeling a lil distanced/disconnected lately with work and everything else.. needed to talk to someone OTHER than my dog.. she's great and all.. but her conversational skills ARE limited.. 
I'm soo glad you're still going strong..  I'm VERY happy for you 2.. I however.. am still on my elusive search of my "knight".. although his armor doesn't have to be shiny OR in one piece.. as long as he's a master swordsman.. I'll be good!

Nah, Chris gave up on here a while ago and he has been scarce on FB for the past week too... I am still on here because I am out on worker's comp, screwed up my neck and back at work and I need people to talk to sometimes....at least you have your dog. She is probably sitting there answering every question you ask her, saying "Ma, I just told you how to handle that!!"
Oh and thank you, I feel very lucky to have met TheCaptain on here.

I've been scarce everywhere myself of late too.. that's why I figured I'd resurface here.. get my feet wet before I venture back out into the cold cruel world of ours
sorry to hear of your accident.. has it been long so far? what's the prognosis? It took me 4-5 years after my accident to get back to some semblance of normal.. hopefully yours was less damaging?! more like.. "whatever Ma..  let's PLAY!"

Six herniated disks in my neck and muscle damage in my left arm, it's been two and a half years and it's only getting worse.

I found that mine comes and goes.. depends on the level of stress or how long I sit/stand for.. I'm really sorry to hear it's getting worse for you though.. I ended up doing my own therapy.. and I advanced leaps and bounds.. physio doesn't always work cuz they don't live IN YOUR body.. sometimes.. the "books" don't cover the issues.. what have you tried so far? |

I've had physical therapy, didn't help much.
Pain management with shots in my neck, only made me sick to my stomach and the last session the "doc" stuck me before the anesthesia was working. So that is totally out of the question anymore. Medical coverage is the job's problem because I got hurt at work. Just had a second MRI and an EMG this week....no fun. |

I had to do the open-air MRI.. that isn't much more fun.. but at least you don't have to smell the
 in the closed one!!  and lets NOT talk about the EMG.. I just had a shiver up my spine at the thought.. nuf said!
my doc's been trying to push the shots too.. where the sacrum meets the lumbar.. NO.. THANK... YOU! I kinda like that I'm walking again!!!
I think they need to do more research into the current nerve and muscle issues.. their pain management techniques and physio don't seem to be working for MANY patients.. maybe if they watched all those that adapt and advance on their own.. they'd have better insight.... 
although I admit.. marijuana does have some very good anti-inflammitory properties.. but being in the US I'd assume that is not typically an option....

I was in a closed MRI this time..
 ... I had to hold my arms on my stomach and my elbows were smashed into the sides of it so my arms went numb (more than they usually are). Ten minutes in to the test the cool air stopped blowing and the radio station on the headphones went all static-y. By the time they took me out I wanted to and pass out from being so dizzy.
I don't want any more of those... I think some doctors are no longer caring as to the pain the patient is in and just wants the money for recommending another kind of hocus-pocus from another doctor. |

sadly.. you may well be right my dear.. it doesn't seem to always be about the patient anymore.. it's becoming just another commercial business!

MAN what a DAY yesterday.. blizzardy and blustery and HORRibly Windy brr brr cold!!! although the DOG seemed to enjoy it!
so much for shoveling though.. the wind blew it ALL back.. and THEN some nows I gots tah do it ALLLL over again
at least there'll be hot cocoa with smellers when I'm done!!

we have a HUGE gothic style place with turrets and pool tables.. theres a juke box with EVERY tune you can imagine! it's a lil rustic but VERY homey! pull up a chair in front of the cozy hearth on cold winter nights or do laps in the indoor heated pool! we got it ALL!! hey.. even a velcro wall with bungie harnesses you can bounce and toss people at!!
drinks are ALways free and you can even serve yerself! so come on in.. kick back.. and enjoy an 'evening out'
