i am glad you are proud of your son. whatever works for you.
i am entitled to have an opinion even if it is different than yours and
i do not know you or that you had a son as well as the fact that
barbie's father was a vet...so how could i possibly be taken so

bl8ant exactly what freedoms do I not have. I have the right to keep
and bear arms, I have freedom of speach, I have freedom to go any place
in the country I choose without applying for a permit. I just completed
a 4500 mile journey through the southwest and I only had to stop at 2
check points and answer "yes" when I was asked if I was a U.S. Citizen.
I traveled at any time of the day or night as I saw fit. I bought as
much gas as I wanted when and where I saw fit. I expressed my opinion
to others as I saw fit. I ate where I wanted, when I wanted, what I
wanted and as much as I wanted. Tell me exactly what freedoms I am
denied.

Ah yes, once again when a liberal is pushed to supply evidence to back
up a statement, the typical defense is to call names "lynch mob" and
then cut and run. laugh laugh

as an intelligent lady & I admire your occupation. No amlice or agenda

isn't "the view" just that...the personal view of the people on the
show? it's not exactly neutral, nor is it a news program. if you hire
a person to give their opinion, you shouldn't then get upset that they
do so.

whether or not you agree with this war, the question parading the
reamins of soldiers across american televisions has been brought up; if
you will, allow me to express the reasons why i dont believe we should
do that,

1) we americans unlike the cultures in the middle east do not parade our
dead through the streets as a prop for propaganda calling them martyrs
or sons of allah or whatever the reason, we just do not do it. death to
us is a private and personal matter that the deads family must endure
long after the photo op for the paparazzi has long gone, and although it
may affect the nation's sympathy it still remains the family who suffers
the loss.

2) as sure as there is breath in my lungs, you know that the bodies of
dead soldiers WILL be used for political gain, either playing on the
sympathies of the nations, or its anger towards the war. I can find
nothing so dispicable as to spit on the grave of a soldier, which is
what i believe a politician does (even if only a metaphor) when he/she
uses the bodies to further gain a political footing.

3) a question never asked of us service men is would we want our remains
seen throughout the nation if we were to die,,, i can tell you from this
soldiers point of veiw that i would not wish to have my coffin carried
up (another metaphor) as a martyr for anyone, but of course I would be
dead at the time so i guess my last wishes wouldnt really matter as long
as you got something out of it (politics). i would also venture to say
that most soldiers are in the same boat as me, so for all of you who
tink that it is your "right" oe an "obligation" of some sort to see the
bodies of dead soldiers I would tell you simply this in regards to the
dead'

ITS NONE OF YOUR DAMNED BUSINESS ! ! !

back to the original topic of the post one crazy person (in my opinion)
rosie the fake ass o'donell, i think really Adventure Begins said it
best. I would however just add that she was an embarrassment to me
personally as an american, although i do respect her right to voice her
opinion, and i will do my best to ensure that it will remain so within
my life time. She doesnt however have a "right" to make some company pay
her for voicing those rights. hell just ask don imus. liberals or
democrats within this country believe that or should i say appear to
believe that it is only them who has the right to voice any kind of
opinion, and the rest of us are just a nuiscense who shouldnt be allowed
our own voice on any given subject.

thats my $12.82 worth on the subject

Too late Doc, They already have a National Cemetary. Even a Tomb of
unknow remains. Also, a G.I. is government property (issue) and the
government is (suppossed) to be the people. That means we belonged to
them, personally, as long as they dont open the coffin, Id be proud to
be carried through the streets, right up to the capital steps.. Man,
what an honor...drinker drinker drinker

have fun with it then fanta.... i want no part of it, and are you saying
that i am property of the people? dont buy into the myth, the kool aid
is tainted.

as to the person (i think it was you bl8ant- sorry) I am proud of your
humanitaryism think what youve done has been and unfortunately will
continue to be remarkable things with limited funding,, having said that
you made the fascism comment;

Fascism is a form of extreme right-wing ideology that celebrates the
nation or the race as an organic community transcending all other
loyalties. It emphasizes a myth of national or racial rebirth after a
period of decline or destruction. To this end, fascism calls for a
"spiritual revolution" against signs of moral decay such as
individualism and materialism, and seeks to purge "alien" forces and
groups that threaten the organic community. Fascism tends to celebrate
masculinity, youth, mystical unity, and the regenerative power of
violence. Often, but not always, it promotes racial superiority
doctrines, ethnic persecution, imperialist expansion, and genocide. At
the same time, fascists may embrace a form of internationalism based on
either racial or ideological solidarity across national boundaries.
Usually fascism espouses open male supremacy, though sometimes it may
also promote female solidarity and new opportunities for women of the
privileged nation or race.

Fascism's approach to politics is both populist--in that it seeks to
activate "the people" as a whole against perceived oppressors or
enemies--and elitist--in that it treats the people's will as embodied in
a select group, or often one supreme leader, from whom authority
proceeds downward. Fascism seeks to organize a cadre-led mass movement
in a drive to seize state power. It seeks to forcibly subordinate all
spheres of society to its ideological vision of organic community,
usually through a totalitarian state. Both as a movement and a regime,
fascism uses mass organizations as a system of integration and control,
and uses organized violence to suppress opposition, although the scale
of violence varies widely.

Fascism is hostile to Marxism, liberalism, and conservatism, yet it
borrows concepts and practices from all three. Fascism rejects the
principles of class struggle and workers' internationalism as threats to
national or racial unity, yet it often exploits real grievances against
capitalists and landowners through ethnic scapegoating or
radical-sounding conspiracy theories. Fascism rejects the liberal
doctrines of individual autonomy and rights, political pluralism, and
representative government, yet it advocates broad popular participation
in politics and may use parliamentary channels in its drive to power.
Its vision of a "new order" clashes with the conservative attachment to
tradition-based institutions and hierarchies, yet fascism often
romanticizes the past as inspiration for national rebirth.

Fascism has a complex relationship with established elites and the
non-fascist right. It is never a mere puppet of the ruling class, but an
autonomous movement with its own social base. In practice, fascism
defends capitalism against instability and the left, but also pursues an
agenda that sometimes clashes with capitalist interests in significant
ways. There has been much cooperation, competition, and interaction
between fascism and other sections of the right, producing various
hybrid movements and regimes.

THATS NOT THE AMERICA I KNOW

I personally love Rosie O'Donnell. She has never censored herself and
says what she thinks. If people dont' like it she could care less.
Anyone can say what they want about the woman, but she does alot of good
for a whole lot of children.

Maybe she believes in "I'd rather be hated for what I am then be loved
for what I'm not". Thats the way we should all be. I'm glad she got
the opportunity to speak her mind and I'm sure she'll be back on the air
soon.

You all have the rights that freedom allows you, to think, feel and say
whatever you will, here, in this safe haven. Yet you seem to oppose
with flagrant disregard the same to one, Rosie O’Donnell. She has used
her high profile, her high morals with unrelenting energy to advance
causes within political, legal, and for individual rights than all of us
combined can ever hope to accomplish here.

Yes, she voices loudly her questions, yes, she demands truth, yes, she
rallies those that would be most beneficial in her causes, yes she asks
and makes us question. She ‘attempts’ to do, for freedoms sake, with
freedom that is supposed to be guaranteed to every citizen. Yet you
would choose to laugh, or get angry at her purpose.

Whether you are aware of all she has done, whether she is right or wrong
about 9/11, or whether we ever really know the truth about it all, she
at least deserves some respect for what she has accomplished, and for
the guts she has to continue to question so loudly, so publicly.

As for other comments in these replies:
Why shouldn’t we be informed by sources, OTHER, than the government
on the latest “casualty” count. And why are you NOT upset that they
call it a “casualty” count? We go on everyday in this country,
oblivious, to the everyday trauma of war. A war some deem illegal, a
war some believe to be immoral. Why would you, any of you, especially
those who have suffered loss, want to hide their sorrow away from the
public? A public whose only dealings with this war, may indeed be, a
commentary of current death rates, or film, the proof, in our faces,
that our people are dying?

Armydoc, you have spoken passionately, but I think your words are
blemished by anger.
Those that oppose the war, are in opposition of what this government is
doing, not opposed to the valor, the commitment or the courage that our
citizens have in opting to defend, without question, what they believe
in. You said:

“””you know that the bodies of dead soldiers WILL be used for political
gain, either playing on the sympathies of the nations, or its anger
towards the war. I can find
nothing so dispicable as to spit on the grave of a soldier, which is
what i believe a politician does (even if only a metaphor) when he/she
uses the bodies to further gain a political footing.”””

You speak from the political; you speak of the “political gain” of
presenting footage of coffins, battles, and real numbers. War is about
political gain, and it’s about hiding from the general public, what
could be detrimental to that end. It would be best to have an honest,
fact oriented news agency, but the nature of news is business and we
must be smart enough to take the information without the other aspects
of reporting. I would rather have badly reported information, with some
element of truth, than to depend of a government who believes the deaths
of our citizens is simply a casualty count.

It is this control that the government wields over us, these secrets,
and the intentional use of misinformation, and propaganda that is in
part what Bl8ant refers to in considering our lack of freedoms.

These are passionate times, sorrowful times and if it takes people like
Rosie O’Donnell to make us see it, at least to make us question it, than
no matter how disapproving you are, this act of free speech at least
deserves better from all of you.
